Yes I saw what he said. Other people have said that more teams will be in the same position all through this season because of the flat cap.
- shack67

Other teams have been in the same position. They just chose to go with one fewer skater. If the Leafs had done that and called up Hutch and sent Lilli down, they would have lost Lilli for the whole time Mrazek was injured because of the way the emergency call up rules work. They took a chance that Campbell wouldn’t be hurt in the game and now have a free goalie.

Habs are 0-3...Who would have thought
- Santo_44

While I don't like their team and predicted they'd not do well, I also wouldn't have thought they'd be 0-3, solely because they played Buttalo in game 2.

According to the Athletic only 4 players scored more even strength goals than Matthews at this point in his career. Gretzky, Lemieux, Bossy, and Brett Hull. Can you imagine if Matthews was facing the same goaltending as those guys?

They also said that the leafs haven’t given up a goal yet with Sandin on the ice.

Timashov is on unconditional waivers . . . I wonder if he's heading to the KHL.

That's only because Holl and Muzzin are taking them all.

Don't look now but Buffalo is 2 and 0. They appear to be sucking at winning the Shane Wright sweepstakes. In other words they are sucking at sucking.

It sounds like he really wanted to go to Seattle. Because of his contract that was probably the only way he was getting out of Montreal.
- shack67

u guyz are right👍🏿

poor karey has to deal with his millions while waiting for his hof induction😭

dubass could’ve probably picked him up with a hometown discount if he would’ve told greedy pencil neck to (frank) right off with his dad and the horses they rode in on 🤦🏿‍♂️

This is true and those same people are thinking they would be getting "all star Uncle Leo" and not Uncle Leo circa 2021......

Leafs are lacking in a player with a handlebar tho

He'd be a good fit

Marner for Kucherov

Then trade Nylander for Eichel

Then trade and grab a couple $10m players at the TDL with some of our top 40 prospects

Bring back Kucherov and Eichel for the playoffs

Boom - cup

So you'd rather have the Leafs shell out some high pick for someone capable of playing as a 2C in case of injuries? I wouldn't.

As for Subban being a distraction I don't see it, these guys are big boys they can handle some more media attention.

I never heard anyone say he is a bad teammate, just a player who has always been willing to show his personality which more players are doing these days.

There are no "answers" anymore, just additions that can help the team win a cup.

As for a LW they need a legit 2nd line winger in there...if JT,Marner or Nylander go down in the playoffs they need a better player to complete a line. I won't even mention AM because if he is injured they are screwed.

- Santo_44

I didn't say that I would want to trade a high pick to bring back a player who could play 2C in a pinch. It's demonstrably clear this team is (frank)ed if one of AM34 or Snake goes down in the playoffs for a long stretch so promoting anyone to the 2C role who isn't qualified isn't really an option.

Subban getting traded from MTL and then Nashville for pennies on the dollar gives me all of the information I need to know about his ability to fit. Having said that, there were some murmurs that Dubas wanted to add Subban in the past so maybe he's an option -- not sure how much I believe those rumours though and I think he has definitely past his expiration date by now anyway. If that's a big move the Leafs want to contemplate then I just don't know what to say...

It'll be interesting to see where this team is at by mid-season. We'll have much clearer insight on what is working on this team because, as it stands now, there are still so many question marks:

- Can Kase stay healthy?
- Is Kampf capable of legitimately playing a shutdown role against superstars?
- Is Dermott a capable third pairing RD?
- Does Mrazek come back from his injury and make a difference?
- How many games can Campbell reasonably play?
- Is AM34's wrist back to normal? (if it isn't, I agree: we're (frank)ed)
- Is Ritchie and/or Bunting capable of playing Top 6 LW mins?

It's hard to know any of the answers for this until we get 20-30 games under our belts. 🤷

Only one or two problems

Rielly isn't Hedman
Sandin isn't Sergachev
