once their replacement has left the bench, almost every player coasts in and hops over.
- prock

That’s not what happened tho. If you watched the play you’d see that. You’re just making assumptions, and when proven wrong you’ll make some other poop up.

He coasted from the net to the bench with 1 minute left down a goal. His replacement wasn’t on the ice.

Marner doesn’t pull poop like that.

Those are the types of things that cost games.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

You're clearly not watching Marner with the same eyes you watch Nylander with, then. 'Cause Marner undeniably does the exact same things.

He’s played well. The points will come.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Your bias with Willy is way off. But so is everybody's bias with Marner. He's looked really dangerous the past two games. If he keeps playing the way he has, the points will come. The "he looks lost/useless" is a wild ride of bullpoop.

Does anyone else think we're wasting too much talent on PP1?

I think it needs to be divided up a bit better so the the PK1 and PK2 on the opposing team is just screwed either way.

PP1
Sandin
Matthews RS
Marner LS
Kase in the bumper
Ritchie/Bunting net front

PP2
Rielly
Spezza RS
Nylander LS
Tavares bumper
Ritchie/Bunting net front

Wouldn't that be a better way to get the PP going a bit better?

He absolutely does not.

Like I said, you guys are blind to Willys shortcomings. If Marner did the same things I’d call him out too, and I have in the past.

Marner does do things like that.

Every player does. Why? Cause when they skate their asses off during their shift their legs damn near die for a few minutes.

Your Nylander hatred is absurd.

Matthews, Marner, Tavares, and Nylander are all great players, but their humans as well and slump sometimes. Thankfully Nylander is tied for 10th in the league for scoring atm.

There’s no hatred. I praise him everyday on here.

People just can’t accept when I point out his flaws, but when Keefe or MJ/Odog/MiB does it they’re all wrong too.

He's really held the fort down in absence of much contribution from most of the other forwards...

AGain, still early. They'll start clicking soon I'm sure.

You’re getting a tad mouthy AA

Back it off or you’ll get banned. You know longer have a warning time like other posters after that poop you pulled a couple weeks ago.

I want my best shooters playing together with my best playmakers and giving the opponents PK fits.

I like the PP1 being loaded up.

And you were wrong. He’s been playing far more physical this year. He’s never going to be super gritty but he is still developing.

Actually I don't

And it's not a revisionist thing, just a straight dumbness and memory thing on my part.

So I guess that means I agree with you!?!? And I'm cool with that.

He's been very underwhelming so far, and makes just as much as Marner, but it's crickets when it comes to his play this year. Not that I'm advocating jumping down his throat. Its 4 games deep.

I think the whole fan base is anxious as balls and still bitter about last year. So everyone is looking to pick their guy to sacrifice.

They’re all essentially getting used to new line mates

Except line 4. Spezza Engvall Simmonds

I repeat, every player has new line mates except line 4 lol

Marner hasnt been perfect this season or last playoffs.
He needs to get better.

Not sure why its always Wilster vs Marner all the time.
They both can be good, great and bad at times.
Wilster has stepped up his game, still has defensive woes, but thats ok. He's been really good this season.
Marner will turn it around, no doubt. When he does hopefully people stop complaining about every move/mistake he makes.

But he wanted 10.9...so that comes with the territory.
IMO none of it matters, dont care what he or Matthews do this season...its all about what they do in the playoffs.

there is something to be said for either approach, loading up pp1, or spreading out pp1 and pp2.

PKing is completely draining. you have to be everywehre and can't stop your feet for a second. 40 seconds of PK and you're done for, whereas being on the PP is not at all draining. load up the first PP line, and you're possibly getting that loaded up line time against PK1 and PK2. and if they get hemmed in on that PP, you're loaded up while the PK line gets exhausted.

But yes, you can also give them two PP lines that'll screw them, and that's not fun to deal with either.

Ya?

I understand your logic...although PP1 is not fully clicking yet...but personally I feel like putting top tier talent on PP2 and then giving the opposing PK2 a shelling too, could be more effective.

Edit: this is mostly because I feel like it's a waste to put Marner and Tavares in the middle. Those positions don't need that much talent, that just have to play a good game of Whack (frank).

True, he hasn't shown much either...... I wonder if he's still dealing with concussion issues?

Meh, he got a point last night playing on his line for the first time

Nylander: 4P
Tavares: 2P
Marner: 1P
Matthews: 0P

A bit of a slow start but they’ll all get going soon enough

What did the PP look like under Babs when JT first signed and they were tearing up the league?

sure, the first 10 games of a season are a roll of the dice, for the most part.

But it's the same for every team. Everyone is still getting used to linemates and stuff.

you always get some funky results for the first portion of a season.

I recall one year seeing Phaneuf leading the league in almost every category for like 5 or 6 games.... LOL. Assits, points, plus minus. The NHL leaderboard was hilarious. Phaneuf's ugly mug everywhere.l
