It sounds like he really wanted to go to Seattle. Because of his contract that was probably the only way he was getting out of Montreal.

Idk I definitively think its for his mental health, highly doubtful he would abuse the mental health program just to prove a point to the gm.

There are currently lower bowl tickets for under $160 for tonight's game.

It's a traffic accident I can't bear to look away from.

I'm on the season ticket wait list.

They just sent an email for new "half season packs". 18 games for as low as $100 per game.

TML ticket sales division may actually need to do some work this year.

Price never wanted to leave Montreal.

Bergevin, Price and Allen all agreed on the best strategy to keep both goaltenders in Montreal and it worked.

Him having mental health issues and being currently away from the game has nothing to do with that.

It definitely is a mental health issue. But whatever is going on I think he believed that going to Seattle might be good for him.

Sometimes a change can be beneficial to someone who is suffering from depression or other issues.

He has a family, moving a family isn't easy for anyone.

I'd be interested to see if this is happening in other cash cow markets that fund the weaker teams.

If the Rangers, Philly and Montreal are also seeing lots of empty seats, this may get interesting.

My proposal: big market teams can buy a voucher to exceed the cap. For $30M, you get to go $10M over the cap.

Is there a good article that really details what's going on? Has he given interviews or anything?

Thanks in advance.

I think it was the Toronto Sun that said he really wanted to go to Seattle and that he was very disappointed when he wasn’t taken. That might all be something that Steve Simmons made up.

Nope.

Sounds like it caught the team off guard too, probably won't get any answers until he gets back.

Most likely.

There has been several articles by journalists in Quebec that talked about how the whole situation went down. I'd consider their opinion over Simmonds, personally.

I’m shocked that you used Steve Simmons and made up in the same sentence. My hot dog vendor just over shot his dog with mayo.

About his mental health?

Nothing. Kinda like how it was with Drouin last spring.

I'm guessing he'll make a statement when he comes back and moves on once he does.

Which should be sooner than later... Habs even have a ceremony prepared in honor of native nations when he does.

Simmons is a joke.

He went off on an article about the Alex Bishop thing calling the league and the leafs a joke.

Meanwhile in a flat cap it was just a random occurrence that turned out to be a really positive night for a young kid, which is all it should have been. The guy is angry at the world and his articles have no relevance.

Yes I saw what he said. Other people have said that more teams will be in the same position all through this season because of the flat cap.

I always read Simmons on Sundays. He’s a wealth of knowledge when he doesn’t make poop up. But he can’t seem to help himself most times.

One other critical piece of info for anyone attending a Leafs game this year:

They changed the supplier for plastic souvenir beer cups.

They used to be awesome - I have about a dozen I've collected over the years. They easily fit a tall boy of beer.

The new ones are incredibly poor quality - very brittle.

I bought two on opening night - they are both now in the garbage after cracking.
