Wasnt everybody. I didnt know much about wilster...so he wasnt on my radar. I believed I wanted Ehlers or Perlini.
Im happy with Wilster but would have been happy with Ehlers as well.
Glad they did not get Perlini.....and of course Ritchie.

I also thought Virtanen would have been a good pick....LOL Wow....got that completely wrong.

- Fakepartofme

I wanted Nylander all along.. I liked Ritchie, but at that time the Leafs didn't have a lot of skilled forwards. Only Kessel and JvR, really.

It’s not just his skating, it’s his thinking/decision making right now. He can’t keep up with Mitch and Auston. Maybe that’s a function of time but you can see he holds onto the puck too long when he gets and misses plays. I don’t know how long he gets to get it but it’s not forever.

JT is kind of in the same boat right now too, not as pronounced but he’s not playing his best. That was a terrible pass up the middle that led to the first goal last night.

He's played exactly one game with Mattews! How long does he get? He's the most significant acquisition in the off season, I would think its more than one game. He had some excellent scoring chances - as did his linemates, unfortunately none were burried. This will be a very good line this season IMO. That line looked very dominant especially in the second period, better results are on the way.

Is Price even the best xanada has to offer. He was good in the playoffs but has been an average goalie for about 4 years otherwise.

No doctor needed, it’s fantasy dream land if you think it’s just going to magically disappear and you will never get it.

How the (frank) do you think that something that spreads that easily is just going to disappear?

"Leafs played great and absolutely dominated the game, but they lost so it won't work in playoffs."

(frank)ing imagine even thinking that makes sense.

not sure, but is spatso trying to say that a better strategy come playoffs is to get outshot and out played, but just have a hot goalie?

"He (Mike Babcock) tried to healthy scratched me in the outdoor game in Wrigley Field against Chicago because he knew it was my hometown. Just things that were so unnecessary.
Kenny Holland and Jim Nill for three days argued with him. So what Babs ended up doing was he suited up 7 D for the first time ever, first and last time. He suited up 7 D, put Anders Lilja in the lineup. And played me opening shift and then didn’t play me another shift the rest of the game. That was his way of, you know, showing Kenny and now Jim Nill, he’s not going to be told what to do.

Again, and you know it’s funny. I’m sitting there. Second period and my two sons were about 40 feet, you know, sittin on the boards and they’re looking at me going, what’s going on?
And I look at them. I tip my glass like you know my cup, to get me a beer. So my two boys were handing me beers the whole game. And then McCrimmon tried to get me to go out there with a minute left to kill a penalty, I said not a chance."

I wouldn't say Dubas needed his own coach as much as he just needed to get some distance from this ego maniac. Zero chance a young GM can do his thing with this guy behind the bench.

Not to discredit or argue Chelios or anything, but Were I Babcock, I wouldn't have played him either. He was ancient and awful.

Campbell was nothing short of excellent yesterday as he has been in every game. The first goal was a floater but he made several exceptional saves, just not as many as Shesterkin.

I remember that story.

Babcock is an bumhole.

Remember when Mike Modano was 1 game away from playing 1500 in the NHL and he decided to bench him claiming he wanted to ice the best possible roster in a meaningless game since Detroit was already making the playoffs?

What a douche. You guys are better off with Keefe.

- Scabeh

This is an actual poophead move, though. Absolutely no defense for it.

This point is always left out.
He was horrible and very slow at that time.
I mean Babs is still a jerk...but chelios, gimme a break.

All Canadian goalies who have played so far this season:

Probably the top options who aren't Carey Price:

Jordan Binnington
Carter Hart
Darcy Kuemper
Marc-Andre Fleury

Middle-tier options who you could, theoretically consider based on their play, but they lack experience or consistency:

Adin Hill
Jake Allen
Chris Driedger
Mike Smith
Tristan Jarry

Lower-tier options who we probably shouldn't consider:

Jonathan Bernier
Braden Holtby
Laurent Brossoit
Sam Montembeault
Carter Hutton
Dustin Tokarski
Cam Talbot

. . . Canada is not deep in net.

I think he is saying the Leafs starting goalie is average and that his 1.18 gaa and .953 save % is awful and the Leafs need to improve.

I think Ritchie would offer the same on any line...I’ll give him a few more games but I think Kase is the guy who gets that spot.

feels like every game so far the Leafs have been "goalied"
does that happen for all teams?

or is it just the Leafs doing it to themselves..somehow someway?

I find campbell with either stand on his head but somehow a floater always gets by him.
He's been great and last night he was awesome...very fun to watch.

In fairness, the WHO has quietly already stated they no longer consider it a pandemic, its now endemic.... i.e. the best we can hope for is to contain it, and deal with occasuonal outbreaks. Because its here permanently.

Of course when we get goaltending we can’t score.

It’s like the game of golf. Drive well putt like poop, putt well and hit the ball deep woods off the tee.

Non-Canadian stars sometimes want to play in Canada, despite Dozzer's assertion otherwise.
