I get it, I think he has to tread lightly as to not get pims in fear of demotion. But I still think he brings more then a lot of people give him credit for.

4 pretty good lines last night.

I guess Engvall eats popcorn when Mikey comes back, not what I’d do but probably what will happen. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Still think that only Mikheyev or Engvall have the speed to play with M&M

The problem with posting stuff like this is that you look like an idiot if you don't fact check first. A simple check of stats and facts will tell you the team, so far, is among the leaders in lowest goals against per game.

Then again you're the same div who spewed bollox how the Leafs made a mistake drafting Matthew's over Laine. So coming across as an idiot seems more of a natural outcome for you.

- systemtool

You know that is urban legend. It is what folks might want to believe.

If you check the long threads on the theme you will note that I never once before the draft...ever said anything other than I would take Matthews with the first over all pick.

I did promote the idea that folks needed to discuss Laine as an option. And, when Laine began to light it up as a rookie I did wonder if the right choice had been made. But, and, I think you know this, I never advocated for the Leafs to draft Laine the #1 pick!

That won’t happen, they went out and got Ritchie to replace Hyman for $3m cheaper. They’ll probably go down with that ship thinking they outsmarted everyone. ( hopefully they’re right and he gels with AM MM )

He skates much better than Andreychuk ever did. He's a LW and there to be a net presence and create space and safety for M&M. Much like Clark Gillies who was a slow skater and played LW on a line with Bossy and Trottier he has a great shot. Gillies was one of the most feared players in the NHL when he played on the top line for a team that managed to win four cups in a row.

I'm not living in fear of it per say, I'm just recognizing that COVID is still floating around and there is no magic bullet pill or treatment yet if you get it. I have elderly parents whom I have to be around and care for on a semi-regular basis. I'm actually not worried about me getting it but even though they are double vaccinated it concerns me still that if one of them were to get it how it may impact them.

For example my father in law is diabetic, has COPD and had a triple by-pass this year - not worth the risk to me as much as the ticket prices are uber appealing to me.

Covid is never going away, you will get it eventually.

The goal and the goal from the start is to keep ICU numbers down, we are succeeding at that right now.

This is pure BS and you know it. The problem is, every regular poster on here also knows this to be baloney. You would have had great difficulty in Roman Times.

Have we coined "Ritchie Wives" yet? Imagine if they had picked him over Nylander like everybody wanted back in the day.

It’s not just his skating, it’s his thinking/decision making right now. He can’t keep up with Mitch and Auston. Maybe that’s a function of time but you can see he holds onto the puck too long when he gets and misses plays. I don’t know how long he gets to get it but it’s not forever.

JT is kind of in the same boat right now too, not as pronounced but he’s not playing his best. That was a terrible pass up the middle that led to the first goal last night.

I've said all along, we only need one of Mikheyev and Engvall, and from what you get from each vs cap hit, Engvall is the easy choice at that point.

Who knows what they’re thinking. Nice to have some options in case of injuries I guess.

Wasnt everybody. I didnt know much about wilster...so he wasnt on my radar. I believed I wanted Ehlers or Perlini.
Im happy with Wilster but would have been happy with Ehlers as well.
Glad they did not get Perlini.....and of course Ritchie.

I also thought Virtanen would have been a good pick....LOL Wow....got that completely wrong.

Yup.

It used to be Canada pumping out elite goaltenders one after the other.

Now who's taking over for team Canada when Price calls it quits or becomes too old to perform at a high level?

Carter Hart?

- Scabeh

Is Price even the best xanada has to offer. He was good in the playoffs but has been an average goalie for about 4 years otherwise.

Eh? They limited the rags to less than 20 shots and had over 40 themselves.

This comment makes zero sense.

- burn

"Leafs played great and absolutely dominated the game, but they lost so it won't work in playoffs."

(frank)ing imagine even thinking that makes sense.
