I've noticed for the last 2 or 3 years (as long as I've been noticing it...) that the NHL schedule makers seem to have the Flyers' schedule very slow in ramping up. For example, one of the other responses noted the Kraken having the Vegas line on tonight's game due to having more time to get their game going. I agree with the assessment for this and all games. Conversely, Pittsburgh & NYR always seems to be 2-4 games ahead of the Flyers. I have not done a study league wide. But now that someone else has noticed it, maybe there should be. It is an advantage, no different then shooting first in the shootout and scoring. Teams who have played 2-3 games already are on tonight's schedule. It puts pressure on a slower schedule. Is there a good explanation for the schedule makers doing this besides it is a coincidence ?

Vegas doesn't pick odds based on wins and losses. They set the line to encourage equal betting on both sides. The Kraken are an expansion team. They don't have any advantage and I don't care how many games they've played. The Flyers are the better team, therefore they have the advantage. Have to show up though and can't take any team lightly.
