Stuart, Primeau & Marco Sturm respectively.

To be fair, without that deal, the Bruins can't afford to sign Z as their #1 D nor keep Bergeron and Co this long. Likely not seeing as many cups or winning any either.

For a guy that may not play this year due to needing surgery, that surgery may or may not have a negative impact on his play/career, clearly has an attitude problem, and by all accounts doesn’t seem to be much of a team player. What team in their right mind is trading anything worthwhile for this package of crap?
- Cptmjl

none. But that’s what Buffalo fans still expect.

Different conversation entirely. The point is trades involving big sexy names don't garner the return everyone thinks they will.

EDIT: Also if we're going to veer off topic...Thornton is a good player but he is a career loser in the NHL. IDGAF about the Spangler Cup. Wrong cup.

I think a lot of people have it wrong. The Sabres get what they want or he can sit and rot even if it's years. I know most fans here feel that way.
He is nothing but a big crybaby and he's no Captain.
If he truly wants the replacement surgery why doesn't he have it done ?
The reason being is he doesn't want to give up the money.
Poor little crybaby wants his way. Medical appeal- You Lose !-Lawsuit-Sorry you lose there too. You move CRYBABY !

Friedman is a pretty solid source. He has already confirmed that Buffalo has finally acknowledged that they have to accept a condition based offer. So something like:

Player
Pick #1...if Eichel plays X games this year then the pick is a 1st. If Eichel doesn't play X games then the pick is a 2nd.
Pick #2...if Eichel plays X games next year then it's another 1st. If he doesn't it's a 4th.

Or something like that. So whoever acquires him doesn't assume all the risk for his surgery.

Surprised that this is an E4 and this concept hasn't been outlined...

We should all intently listen to Jackie Daytona providing insight. We wouldn't want to miss gems like this:

They also said they don’t want to retain any salary. All of the teams looking to trade for Eichel are at or near the cap max. So Buffalo will need to take contracts back that come close to equaling what they ship out.

And then they can continue paying him for years, or his insurance premiums.

He would probably go and have the surgery tomorrow. And it wouldn't cost him much. Either Buffalo would terminate his contract for breach, and he would sign elsewhere and they would get nothing. Or they would be mad at him and trade him for closer to his actual value instead of thinking he is worth the world. And if he is worth the world, they won't terminate his contract.

Many fans say the Sabres have to trade him by the draft next year because his no trade clause kicks in and he would have to approve any trade.
I say OK at that time you don't like the trade the Sabres propose he can veto it then he can just take a seat until another deal is forthcoming

Is Eichel even going to play this year? Vegas' season will be too deep in the dumper for retrieval if they wait for him. 500 million dollar cover charge got em a few kicks at the can, but they're going to have to earn the rest.

Dude, your posts are kinda logical and thoughtful, but do not mean crap to Adams and the Sabres, because Eichel is under contract for 5 more years. Adams does not have to move him, f'ing period. A team can come to terms with Adams' wishes or not. Simple.

If Vegas doesn't offer what Adams wants, oh well. And you and the douchebag from NY cptpoopypants trying to downplay Eichel's value also. means. nothing. Comparing this situation to acquiring "another team's best player" like Point or Stamkos means absolutely nothing because those players are not on the trade block. Eichel is, and that caliber of player does not get offered often. Simple.

What caliber is that? The 53rd leading scorer the last 3 years? The guy with a potentially career threatening injury? The guy who hasn't averaged a PPG in his career? A guy who has averaged a PPG two seasons in his career? A guy who has missed less that 5 games in a season once in his career?

If Adams doesn't change his asking price, they're gonna be stuck paying him $10M a year to sit.

He couldn't sign elsewhere. Having surgery would likely be breach of contract, but even if the contract was terminated, his rights aren't. Like retirement, Sabres would still own him for 5 more years.

That's not how a termination of contract works.
