I know - sorry, man! The years of losing are getting to me. It just doesn't feel right, what they've tried to do this year. I find myself unable to be super positive about a bunch of bandaids. I get that you're probably sick of all the female doging.

I think I'm gonna take a break from posting, except just my reactions during games. Carry on, gentlemen!

Feel free to post that’s not what I was saying.

All I was getting at is leaf fans need to put the blame on Matthews, and/or Marner, and/or Tavares, and/or Nylander if the top lines aren’t producing. Not the low key complimentary wingers

I didn't help my cause by having Robertson from Dallas in my line up
- dmnted

Me too, I read he was injured and then I check another site and they had him in the lineup.

Probably, not my choice after watching 1st 3 games.

We don’t have to worry for a few more weeks and then there will be more injuries I would guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️

- Garnie

So who do they take out of the lineup then?

Tavares is bumping Kerfoot somewhere, where to if not the 3rd line?

I just don’t know that it’s about looking like you’re doing all the work. I don’t think I’ve seen Kampf or Kase fail to get the puck out of our zone or into the O-zone. They’re always well positioned. I never have any worries about what they’re going to do. With Engvall, there’s a some. Even before the turnover that led to the goal, there had been a few. It’s not egregious, but IMO, he’s just down a level from them in responsible, defensive play. I guess it’s a question whether Kerfoot is better.

They never have the puck, how would they make a mistake?

I wish there was a way to tell how long each player has the puck. He stands out and loses the puck more because he’s all over it like a fat boy on a smartie. Again JMO and probably off a little 🤣

Bunting is looking like a good fit with Nylander. I'm thinking the KKK line would be pretty nifty as a shutdown line with some offensive upside.

Armadio and then 🦒 to line 4 I guess.

I forgot AM is back tomorrow already

I'm looking forward to seeing how effective Kampf can be against real superstar forwards. I've been pretty happy with his and Kase's play so far though!

Lets call it the Special K Line, its not funny to me using a play on a racist, antagonistic and destructive organization of zeros.

That’s my guess too. And Engvall is the type of guy who can let Spezza take the draws but then jump into the center position so he’ll go to line 4

Leaving Amadio as the 13th guy til Mikheyev is back which is when he’ll be demoted to the marlies

Leafs won’t allow a KKK line that’s why 🦒 will stay there.

Maybe Kerplunk does go back to line 4 like he did last year for awhile.

A good article showing why comparing JTs UFA contract (which was the norm at the time) to Marner’s which was trend setting and has led to many more RFAs getting paid is like comparing apples to oranges.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/...ntract-resets-rfa-market/

Not a shot at Marner. I would probably take his over JTs as the last couple of years of JTs contract scare me.

- jribout

Yup. Elite RFA's that demand to get paid ...have always been getting paid. The comps are out there for the last 10+ years.

Marner's high for sure but he gave up a 6th year and his deal was reported to include the repayment of about 5M in rookie bonus $$.

Yup, and Amadio is only with the leafs and not the marlies because of the Mikheyev injury. I like Engvall on the 4th line, Spezza does the draws and then Engvall takes the center role allowing Spezza to play the wing.

I'm not trying to be funny and I'm not trying to be racist and I'm not pleased at the low-grade accusation.

Having said that, I'll refer to them as this going forward:

Kerf-Kampf-Kase

I'm not a fan of calling that line "Special K" though I do like the cereal.

Barring injuries, Mikheyev will have a tough time breaking into the top six IMO when he returns.

Ritchie Matthews Marner
Bunting Tavares Nylander
Kase Kampf Kerfoot
Simmonds Spezza Engvall

Soup-Spezza-Simmonds would create a nice SSS line... if only Spezza could be a reliable 4C these days.

There's no accusation my friend, just pointing out a more appropriate nickname for the proposed line. In my personal life if I find a comment treads on a troubled path, I will go out of my way to point it out. Just the way I'm wired.

I’m wondering if he’ll be given some games but basically on sale to see what another team will offer the leafs for him.

I realize the team doesn’t want to but man oh man would that makes sense. Trading him gives them the ability to have a 13th forward AND a 7th d man… instead of just one or the other.

My question for that would be play him a bit and hope he sets a decent return price for himself or just take a mid to late pick for him and call it a day?

He doesn’t have to be with Engvall. Spezza does the draws and flips to the wing letting Engvall handle the center duties during the play. That’s how it’s been done when those two are on the line together so far anyways.

And that is fair enough!

Kerf-Kampf-Kase it is going forward from me! Honestly, I think that looks like a wicked 3rd line. All 3 are defensively responsible and have some offensive upside (okay, maybe no Kampf!).

Amadio is 1st guy out when AM is back. IMO

After that I guess it’s Engvall even though I think he’s better then most of our bottom 6.
