It wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t for the fact that the Leafs already had Tavares (11M) and Matthews (11.6M) signed. Three 11M contracts on the same team is idiotic. No Stanley Cup winning team in the salary cap era was built this way.

C'mon man. JT gotted robbed by a save of the year on one Marner setup. Missed a tap-in on another. Marner was in alone on another play. If a player is generating chances you don't worry about them.

The idea that Marner Intentionally didn't play well with JT is insane altogether.

But in all seriousness, when you haven’t won a cup since 1967 or even a playoff series since 2004 (iirc), I think people are allowed to pick out under performing players making millions of dollars to play a game.

Not to mention he also plays a primary PK roll.

He deserves it. You guys just don’t like it because he’s not primarily a goal scorer, who cares? If his line is doing damn near 100 goals in a shortened season I really don’t care if he only had 20.

Everyone is upset because like the rest of the team he hasn’t had great playoffs but guess what, he wasn’t the only one sucking so stop putting it all on him

I get the frustration. Your not alone. But you can't put that on the players that play for us now? They are sooo young. I watched that prime series on the leafs. Got to say when i saw mariner, Mathews, and Campbell crying. I started to as well. When i admitted that at work. A few other guys admitted to crying as well. Its not that they didn't care. To me i think they learned something. And given the chance. They will come through. But they got to be given a chance. We all know they are talented enough. I truly believe they learned something from that disaster last year. All of us have been around as this team was being built. They are about to break through. We all need to get behind them. Blindly if need be. lol At least one more time.

The Marner contract in an vacuum isn’t all that bad. Should be closer to Rantanen’s deal, but whatever. It’s the fact they had two 11M contracts signed already that makes it a problem. And yes, the signing of Tavares has proven to be a mistake.

Matthews-Marner on one line, then Nylander at C on another. No problem.

Oh well. Let’s hope they pull off the impossible and win the Cup a Playoff series.
