Sid and MM worked out on the ice this morning and I guess Geno was on the ice a little, but I think he just kinda leisurely skated.

Caught my first Tripletail on Saturday in the Gulf, and got to make some lemon caper cream sauce with it. Honestly one of the softest most tender fish I've ever had. It was so (frank)ing good. Crazy that they look like (frank)ing dinosaurs when you catch them.

honestly, it was barely a keeper. Gotta be 18 to keep, but they get way bigger. FL state record is like 40 lbs. People regularly catch 25-30 inch TT's.

It's so easy to catch (when you find them, that's where the work comes in), we just take the jet ski and run all the stone crab traps. They float underneath the bouy on the surface lookin' like a log. Toss out a shrimp and hold on. They don't get spooked easy at all. I motored the jet ski probably 3 feet from the one I caught.

Kinda like one of our fish staples around these parts, cod. Such a dumb fish and easy to catch. F'n amazingly delicious to eat. Now another fish that's a staple around here, salmon, are crazy smart and pretty hard to catch haha.

If I'm a betting man I'd say no. I think with how well they're paying they won't rush him and like you said, only two games with a three day gap between games.

I tend to think Salmon is a little overrated (not much though) in terms of eating too, BUT I do love a LOX bagel, it's probably my favorite breakfast meal there is. A good cold smoked salmon is incredible. I'll get a bourbon marinated salmon from Publix and smoke it on my CampChef for dinner and it's really good too.

I'm sure it's way better fresh caught as opposed to snagging from the grocery store though.

Mike Matheson, who has yet to make his season debut as he deals with a nagging lower-body injury, is on the ice for Penguins practice. Bryan Rust and Sidney Crosby are not taking part.

I'm still betting Rust is dealing with a conky.

I'm not sure what's available to you guys down there but basically all you can get up here in grocery stores and seafood shops are farmed salmon. Fresh Atlantic salmon are insanely better, I dont eat the farmed stuff. Our salmon are heavily protected up here and you have to have a license to fish them. Some rivers are catch and release only, others you can only retain one, if you're skilled enough to even get that haha. I mean, obviously there's poachers but our Fisheries and Oceans (government) are pretty on the prowl. Myself and 2 other buds went on a crazy long hardcore kayaking trip this past summer and they were up in helicopters keeping and eye on all the salmon rivers around pretty diligently.

EDIT: yeah smoked salmon is unreal...I'll usually eat that farmed hahah. Wouldn't dare smoke a fresh Atlantic one though haha

Agree that's usually what happens when it's a close call but a long break between. I honestly wouldn't dress any of the injured guys.

How's Simon's season so far? I see a smart player on the ice (as he's always been) making plays and fighting for the puck. He's a damn good 3rd/4th liner.

He's smart with the puck, just makes good area passes. Scoring chances seem to happen with him distributing the puck.

Mike Matheson is scheduled to speak with reporters in a bit, a good indication that he'll be in the lineup Tuesday.

It will be interesting to see how they look with him back in the lineup.

Good news on the lines...

Here is the Penguins' workflow...

Zucker-Rodrigues-Kapanen
Aston-Reese—Blueger-McGinn

Cap hit aside, MM on the 3rd pair could be a very good thing.
