Yup...these are the dumb complaints we've arrived at 3 games in. Let's ignore that the C isn't Weber's to give. Let's ignore the reality that players aren't holding back their leadership because of a lack of a letter on their laundry. Nope...let's blame Weber without any common sense or logic to the blame because these are the dumb complaints we've arrived at a week into the season. Wow - Takemedrunkimhome
You obviously ignore one reality, the problem started long before the season did. Nowhere am I blaming Weber for what is happening…. But what is happening needs to be addressed very soon. The team went from a Cinderella run to drafting a controversial player, Danault leaving, KK putting up his middle finger to the organization, Drouin mysterious comeback, Price entering a rehab assistance program. Your home opener and Weber is not there?? Really? Yes!! Leadership plays a huge role… don’t forget that many are still kids!! Btw, I don’t care if it is not his to give, but a true leader would tell the organization that giving it is what is needed. |

He's retired and it's dumb accounting forced by the cba and cap that the league and PA are happy/prefer to ignore. He's retired, will never play again and this LTIR playoff dream people have is silly - both Weber coming back off LTIR and the Habs actually making the playoffs - both are silly. Let the man enjoy his quiet retirement - Takemedrunkimhome
Yeah I didn't consider the fact that he's actually retired, I thought they just wanted him to Kucherov this season.

Wow stop blowing things out of proportion, I just said if he's still the captain, doesn't retire and plans to come back it would have been nice for him to be at the home openener with player presentation.
If he's 100% retired and they just told him to stay home, which I don't think makes sense from a Cap perspective because doesn't Nashville gets stuck with the salary?
Never even once said give the C to another guy

You didn't even say Pacioretty? What was stopping him?
Don't be like that he's the current captain, last news is just that he's on LTIR. I'm sure his teamates would have loved for him to be there, but a great man once said if you want loyalty go buy a dog. |

I like this Vinnie guy - M. Arachide
There is not much to like , all I have been saying is that our run last year through the playoffs was very much motivated by the leadership of Weber, Price, Danault and finally Perry. None are with the team this year and we are holding our breath when it comes to Price. Leadership is like glue…we can’t afford for everyone to look for their respective solutions…. This requires a team approach… the C may be more symbolic, but it would be a gesture that could lead this team to a common goal. |

yeah but Doubledown is being funny and cool by suggesting former captains who have been dead longer than he's said something interesting is comparable to the current captain not being there. |

So...didn't watch the game Saturday...I did watch the highlights though, and seeing Jeff Petry being set up for the big shot and missing two times in row while Caufield was wide open tells me there might be a solution to this goal scoring drought. |

yes, I generally take the time to make sure my posts on here are well-structured. I do this because when losers with English degrees have no comeback they generally attack grammar, spelling etc... However, while posting on my phone I am not as careful and slip up, so those losers with English degrees can say they've had a good day. |

Very funny Double D! But wouldn’t mind having some (not all) in the dressing room right now. I’m old enough to have watched Maurice play, I have seen some of the greatest teams… and leadership was always on top. My concern is that mentally these kids get lost… you might think that they have their poop together cause they are earning millions, but they are just kids. Contrary to your beliefs, having a C in the dressing room (with the right person) would be a start. But then again, maybe I’m just an old fart. |

Because Weber still wants to get the money on his contract and can make the argument he was injured playing on that contract...like anybody else would...just ask Robin Lehner |

If you want the money then get your ass in a plane, spent a nice weekend with the lady in Montreal and wave at the crowd for 30 seconds then go enjoy your reservation at Joe Beef. |

Pretty sure a clean break is better for Montreal than a veneer for the fans but to each their own. The Habs aren't losing because Weber wasn't there in person, players like Gallagher aren't holding back leadership because they don't have a C on their jersey and this whole conversation is both crazy and amusing all at once. (You're welcome Kick)
In an incredibly simplistic view the Habs are losing because:
They are weak down the middle
They are weak throughout the d core
Their special teams are awful
Until some completely unknown time in the future their goaltending tandem is Allen and Montembeault which is an incredibly weak tandem
It isn't (frank)ing complicated |
