their AHL numbers are very similar, unless he surprises everyone I doubt Brooks is miles ahead of Evans in terms of offensive abilities.

Evans can't finish. not a bad player, not a bad vision, but can't finish to save his life. and AHL and NHL are 2 very different things.
Brooks had 4 goals in 11 games last year with the Leafs. |

the Lehkonen syndrome. lol
that's a very small NHL sample size but it would be nice if Brooks can continue on that trend, that would basically mean the habs got a center for free that has already gone through important developmental steps, courtesy of the laffs' organization |

yeah, but when you're talking about an 11 game sample it's almost like saying Poehling will be an offensive juggernaut based on that 4 goal game he had lol

yes, it's a small sample for Brooks, but I've seen enough of Evans to know I am right about him. he's the perfect #4C imo. not enough offense to be top9.
and in other news, Hertl will be in Montreal on Tuesday, maybe MB strikes a deal and keeps him here! |

In the last few months, Hertl is a name who has been popping up in trade rumors due to both the fact that he was reportedly unhappy with the Sharks organization, as well as him being in the final season of his contract. Those rumors died down recently, however, as he told media that he was focused on being a great leader this season in San Jose and seemed to hint at the possibility of taking a discount to stay with them moving forward.
hmm, I wonder how he feels about a market like MTL... I wouldn't get my hopes up but you never know I guess |
