Unless it is a coach with skins on the wall, we will get "beer league" coach posts by the 2nd shift.

Well, it appears that the board is clear JC must go, but we have no idea who should replace him.

- mohel

For the hundredth time, JC isn’t a ‘beer league’ coach. It’s a Swedish Tier 2 league where he had his single season of success.

Your hyperbole is fatiguing. How about we stick to facts.

JC has 1 championship season in 8 tries, in Sweden.
His teams have been worse than league average GAA in 7 of 8 years.

So, have all of those hundreds of players in 3 different leagues quit on him, or been subpar? The likelihood of the majority of his players over 8 seasons being bad is highly unlikely.

This situation is akin to handing the keys to the CEO office of a Fortune 500 company to a kid just out of college.

JC should have done 3-4 years in the AHL, then a couple as an NHL assistant before anyone should have considered him an NHL HC candidate.

Stan tried to show that he was smarter than everyone else, and it bi5 him in the ass.

As for replacements, how about Babcock? A proven record of success, and I believe he and Toews have a complimentary relationship from the years JT played for Mike with Team Canada.

That’s the rub. The list of usual suspects being kicked around does nothing for me.

Unless we have what we had a couple of years ago when I think it was 4 coaches let go at the same time. If I had my druthers Lane Lambert that has been Trotz’s assistant since the Nashville days would be my choice.

Given Babcock’s history, NFW.

I’d think Julien or Therrien would be most likely. Neither as stellar options, but better than JC.

Unfortunately they won’t come until they have control. What happened in Toronto taught them that.

Sorry, "beer league coach" is a direct quote from a couple other posters. No hyperbole needed.

As for facts...I emailed Stan a few days ago to give my approval to dismiss JC. Babcock is fine with me. I suspect the usual suspects will be barking about him within days.

BTW, the Leafs had to sign a college goalie to backup last night against the Sens. Stan can’t send them Delia or Subban for something?

It was to circumvent the cap.

Your constant negativity is tiring.

Maybe Toronto doesn't want either?

He is an assistant coach with the Flyers, he is under contract.

That would not stop him from becoming a head coach.

It's mind boggling that Stan hired Jeremy with no resume after firing Q who is #2 i'm all time wins.

Like hiring a high school coach in Green Bay after firing Vince Lombardi

& he's still here- Wow

What has Yeo accomplished that makes you think he’s a good selection? If I remember correctly St. Louis became a good team AFTER he was fired.

Do you think the Flyers would release him in season? Plus I wouldn’t want him anyway. He wasn’t very good in Minnesota, and his stint in St. Louis was worse.

Hawks don’t have enough Ontario boys Paul, I bet Don Cherry has a lot of time on his hands

In the loss to New Jersey in OT, was the goal scored on the opening shift?

The only guy who can contradict himself in the same sentence.

Bob Pulford hasn’t been given a job by the Hawks in a while.

If so, I could genuinely see the vets on the team being pissed off.

I don't recall the specifics, but there were a bunch of them out there a ton in the frenzied finish of regulation. Don't know one way or the other if that meant they needed time at the start of the OT. No reason for Gus to see the ice, though.

I think as coach, you give the nod to the best two Blackhawks ever. A tip of the cap to a successful past, leading into the future. Maybe might have thrown in that future
Dman you spent a gazillion dollars on, for shytes and giggles.

Whether it was intended or not, it looked like a decision that was aimed with intent. May have really irked and stunned some of our cagey vets. Might have left no question in their minds that JC has his discriminating head up his keister.

Toews, when interviewed, said, "It would have been nice to win." How far removed from the fact that in order to win, you place your 3 best players on the ice together?

Not so sure Toews is on that list anymore.
