If all draft picks are considered busts until they perform like NHL players on a consistent basis, then Mitchell is a bust.

If a draft pick is not a bust until a certain amount of time since his draft year, or perhaps a certain age, then Mitchell is NOT a bust.

Mitchell is not a first round pick. Hard to call anything after the first round a "bust."

Do any of us actually reach 100% of our potential? I mean aside from Ogi's culinary exploits..... Other than that we're all busts! Especially JC! And Blowman.

I just wanted to say there was a bit more to that story than Crawford just gooning it up. Not saying he's a saint, he's done some questionable things, but I think he has atoned for them. Especially when those issues were specifically raised when he was hired by the Hawks as an assistant. I would be willing to give him a second chance for coaching position. He's won a cup and he's only 60 years old.

I would think so. Everyone is not perfect, and if he has made an effort to better himself I don't see why he shouldn't be given a second chance.
He would have had to have gone through an interview along with everyone else and I'm sure they would have asked him about these incidents and his answers must have convinced them to the point that he beat out the other applicants.

Won't find out, unless someone gets injured. Like the idea of him getting minutes in Rockford. Blackhawks rush their defensemen way too soon. Still don't believe they gave Boqvist a fair chance to develop. But, I'm also a crabby old man, so you must take that into consideration.

If you can equate what Gruden said, to what Bertuzzi actually did, I don't know how to reply here. Saying hurtful things versus a desire to clearly beat someone's brains out would appear to be two entirely different realms of stupidity. Gruden already paid for his in spades.

They HAVE to use these guys who are first or second year NHLers, see if they get confident and actually can BE NHLers.
Last year is a "division" was "look." Now you play many different styles players and it is not the redundant opposition you kinda have seen enough to be confident, aware, cautious against.

And Laz on the athletic TRULY knows less about the game than the majority, here, so frack what he thinks...JC the one making the attempts? Nah. Enough with this BS that the defensive system is so foreign, because it is not.

I think they have lots of kids to play now and in the future, and I thought up until now, that he was safe as coach who was going to be the guy who brings them along, natures and teaches, and then the scouting / coaching KNOWS what each guy is and / or the team moves on.
But I am afraid that more poopshow of errors at the next home games, we might end up with Crawford, and I truly don't want that either.

That Crawford and Bertuzzi are very nasty men who conspired to commit 1st degree assault.

Guess that would be up to the authorities. Have not heard of any criminal investigation or charges, but an Illinois woman was recently arrested and charged for this very thing.

What if they go on a winning streak, which if the forwards get their heads out of their asses, start to support the defense and play with some conviction in the opponents end and the defensemen don’t overplay everything, is possible?
