Great to see the Hawks are going with a 6th defenseman that 3 other teams determined was not good enough to play in the NHL.
If Gus is saved for the PP, does Seth play 29 minutes? - scottak
But Gus is "mobile". You have to be "fast", "mobile", who cares if you only have 1/4 of a hockey brain?

I miss the days where some were barking about getting rid of Big Z because the kids in Rockford needed to play. |

That 4th line sounds good to me. Can they play first five minutes of the game?
If there's not another move soon, it means Gus every game and continued hyperventilation on this board. - mohel
Gus represents stability on the back end, and was an under the radar find. SB and JC ecstatic that he fell back into their laps. Gus tries as hard as he can. And, I'm surely not knocking Gus, the human being. Just saying that current leadership can't even provide average optics. A circus atmosphere, at least from a fan's perspective.

You know a few said here we were playing the Bolts system, clearly that is not the case since Johnson is saying they are all trying to learn this new system. |

No poop, play a bit of a boring game you mean where everyone is defensively responsible first? 3 years and 3 games later - BetweenTheDots
..."backing each other and playing within the structure that we talk about."
So, Johnson reports that they actually do have a structure that they actually talk about! Who knew? Not Dots..... |

He's the coach who sent Bertuzzi after Moore. - 6628
Steve Moore hit Markus Naslund in the head and concussed him. There was no penalty called, but Vancouver were really upset with the no call.
Marc Crawford and Brian Burke really criticized the no call. I think that kind of forced the NHL to look into the hit, but they ruled it legal. They were still upset and lots of stuff was said to the media.
In the rematch, which everyone figured there would be some revenge. Nothing happened. I remember a bunch of NHL officials attending the game to sort of send a message, of no funny business. The game was really close and nothing happened. I remember everyone waiting for something to happen. Sort of like the Detroit/Colorado feud.
Its the next game after, when the incident happened. Someone from Vancouver fought Moore at the beginning of the game, but it was just a regular fight, not a beat down or anything like that.
That game, the score ended up being really lopsided for Colorado. I think it was late in the third period that Bertuzzi followed Moore around and tried to fight him, but Bertuzzi was a lot larger than Moore and he refused. Bertuzzi grabbed onto his sweater and hit him from behind. That is where all the YouTube video's pick things up.
Bertuzzi and Naslund were really good friends (super BFFs), Bettuzzi would do anything for Nazlund. |

What structure? Hahaha the one where the dmen abandon their goalie constantly. - BetweenTheDots
..."implemented a new structure and it may be affecting everyone a bit."
Another reporter quoting a player about their structure! I guess they do have one...
And they watch videos and have meetings? That's harsh. Maybe the players are mentally exhausted? |

Regardless of whether its more player than coach, or more coaching staff than player...the issues discussed on this board are consistent the past 3+ years. This tells me with 3 different squads, the coaching staff has not been able to get the team to consistently fix these issues...give someone else a chance |

My take on the Blackhawks start, they do not currently have a young Seabrook, Keith and Hjamlerson just hitting their stride.
They also have a lot of current NHL players who have played just their first three regular season games together. It takes time get chemistry going.
However, giving up first minute and last minute goals absolutely must stop or it's going to be a long, long, Long year. |

That Crawford and Bertuzzi are very nasty men who conspired to commit 1st degree assault.
And nobody wants the Blackhawks to display anything but polite and gentlemanly mannerisms that promote the emotional and spiritual well being of their fans and opponents. |

Was it? Seemed less like an opinion, and more like a recap of a story that most here are already familiar with.
I was just wondering if he was going somewhere with it, or just regaling us with his knowledge of the event? |

If all draft picks are considered busts until they perform like NHL players on a consistent basis, then Mitchell is a bust.
If a draft pick is not a bust until a certain amount of time since his draft year, or perhaps a certain age, then Mitchell is NOT a bust.
What do you think? |

Do any of us actually reach 100% of our potential? I mean aside from Ogi's culinary exploits..... Other than that we're all busts! Especially JC! And Blowman. |
