He's terrible. The funniest thing was when he would broadcast from home in a GIANT MASK to show his virtue. Even the Bills don't like him, remember when they suspended him for getting out of line w state secrets lol?
Its sad to see the NHL use this Vax card story to throw the book at Evander Kane because they couldn't prove any of the ridiculous accusations his jilted ex made against him and the Sharks don't want to pay him anymore. Sad! - DanielEtvs

I won't take anything away from Tampa. They made good use of an avenue available to them but it made the league look bush league imo - Hank Balling
Last year it only worked because of the shortened season. They’ve already lost/moved the guys that they squeezed an extra year out of with koochie on season long ltir.
Basketball is the biggest strong-link sport where the best players dictate the outcome with the greatest regularity.

Is part of your premise that there are an array of bums in the NBA that make it easier for the best players to control games?

Should the NHL introduce a flexible salary-cap?
For example, Toronto using a college the other night because of salary-cap issues in calling a player up due to the flat cap...
Should there be a 1% flex to go over-the-limit in emergency call-up situations? And a limit of uses per season, such as once per month?
The way I understand is Toronto had a starting goalie get injured, then a defenseman fall ill and could have called up a goalie but would have had to play with a short bench...
A 1% flex would allow for about 850k in extra cap space, per year, to call up a player in emergency situations. - BeadyEyedDouche

Interesting concept there BD, and the 1% and use limits seem very appropriate so it doesn't bastardized the Cap Ceiling. I applaud your creativity.
But I still say no. GM's should plan for the majority of these types of situations by leaving a reasonable amount of Cap available. If not, it is a know risk even when the probability of occurence is low ...so infrequently encountered.
Lastly, The Leafs are a top heavy team and knowingly created there own Cap issues.
