The insiders say roughly 5 teams in on Eichel to varying degrees.
Seems like those teams are not all that serious if they take their best or 3 best prospects off the table.
EK says VGK upping their offer...from what? A 3rd in 2025 to a 2nd in 2026? - IonSabres
A 3rd in 2027 to a 4th in 2023!!!!!!!!

I would not be afraid to take Korczak Brisson Morozov in a deal either. When Morozov comes over he would probably be close or even there number 1 prospect anyway. - Buff36
Sorry. I agree with Adams. I'm not walking away without Krebs. They will probably need to add a second guy to the return too.

I don't know that Morozov is higher then Krebs. Morozov got demoted for a few games to the VHL this year (might have been a conditioning stint) but also hasn't lit the KHL on fire anyways. Good prospect, add on top of Krebs but doesn't replace. |

If no trade happens... what is the future options for Sabres regarding Eichel? I assume Jack could basically medically retire if he wants, but could the Sabres under any scenario suspend him without pay for not following the CBA and making a good faith effort to get back on the ice? Doesn't seem like the Sabres are willing to take pennies om the dollar for Eichel, maybe the Pegulas are not going to budge and he can just sit indefinitely w his bad attitude! |

I suspect that Adam is (wisely) not going to go the nuclear route unless he has to. It feels as though things are moving forward - I suspect this gets cleared up in the coming weeks.

Technically an option, but virtually guaranteed it doesn't.

Why ya gotta be such a Turd, Fergie? - Michael Pachla
You guys are the ones being turds. Are there possible scenarios that “could work” cap wise? Sure. But they make absolutely zero sense from the Knights perspective. Try to look at it from their side. You’ll see that there is no good scenario for the knights. You aren’t getting Tuch, Smith, Krebs and a first for a guy that likely won’t even play this year. |

Well however you want to set up the narrative of oh they are one player/center away from a Cup win you can queue that right up. |

Probably not, and I think there is middle ground
The absolute ridiculousness is implying (not saying you are) that Krebs should be an untouchable in an Eichel deal.
It's absurd |

I don't know why you think it's so absurd, the Rangers now made their 2029 4th round pick untouchable and that seems completely reasonable.

Never said Krebs was untouchable. He would obviously have to be part of any deal. But there just is no scenario where the cap can work and Vegas gets better. Salary has to go back to Buffalo and a lot of it. Vegas is already playing with a 20 man roster and if 2-3 of the big salaries are moved to Buffalo they still need to fill roster spots. So they call up guys from the minors for the rest of the year and this helps them how? |

Tuch, Krebs, 2 conditional firsts.
Eichel on LTIR until the playoffs a la kucherov last year |

Tuch isn't playing for what another 4-5 months anyway? Tuch and Eichel would be returning around the same time.
Smith is for cap purposes and Krebs will have to be the prospect coming this way or no deal is happening.
I don't need that 1st, but I will take another prospect.

Bottom line. Jack when healthy is a top 10 player in the league (6th pre-injury).
The discussion starts with Krebs and 22 first or simply don’t make the call…. Adams has stated he wants 4 first round type pieces back. Maybe he drops that to 3…. but given the 22 first will be lower, likely still need 4 pieces. It starts with Krebs and ‘22 first.

It would have to wait, issue is longer it drags out, longer Eichel is out.
Problem from LV perspective is this is a home run opportunity to get a #1 center that they probably don't get elsewhere easily.
Do they risk punting this year to maybe be cup favorites for the next 4+ years? |

Doesn’t come close to fitting cap wise.
Edit: and is far too much for damaged goods Eichel. He may never be the same again. |
