No humor necessary. Sturm is the current assistant coach for the Kings but more importantly he was the German National team head coach and has done wonders with them. A team with no real superstars (yet) and has beaten top national teams with superstars. A coach that can do with little and have them play at a top level is what we need.

Heard Edzo sneak in the fact that there are still tickets available for the home opener. Unless and until they start winning (or at least show some GAF on the ice), it will just get worse. That, more than anything, will cause a shakeup top to bottom.

They could justify canning Stan for "poor judgment" with the premature promotion and continued faith in JC, the Seabs contract, the yo-yo players, maybe(?) the Jones contract, and that 2010 scandal. If they throw in the latter, there's their sacrificial lamb that they might need if that does not play out in their favor.

Don't think you can fire JC and keep Stan as GM. Kick him upstairs if you want, but I don't see them getting rid of only JC given the wide swath housecleaning they've done across the rest of the org.

OK, I'd been hoping Shaw would open the curtain a bit on what is really going on - supposedly he said this at one of the intermissions:
