How many times have the Dmen had the puck at the top af their own circles....and all 3 Hawk forwards are near the far blue line standing still waiting for passes?

I haven't seen that in any of the Carolina games I've watched.

Hard to believe Stan abandoned the rebuild to assemble this abomination. He should have abondoned the coaching staff. What a scathing indictment of his judgement.

No way he should be involved in selecting the teams next coach.

Just A thought other teams are playing their home opener maybe a little more juiced TB coming off a cup win usually start with a hangover .All that being said no excuses for this .
Should have been a call on Kubalik breakaway but those are the breaks .Hawks need the next one to say the least .

Okay I'm willing to say this might be coaching.

I've counted 3 times now tonight where the first defender takes a guy off the puck and, despite there being three other Hawks in the zone, none of them go to the puck to provide support and instead just go to their assigned spot on the ice allowing a second Penguins player to enter the zone and pick up the puck uncontested.

There is talent on this team.

They need someone to guide them in putting it all together.

So far, it doesn’t appear that Colliton is the guy. Too many bad starts, too much confusion on the ice in all zones, too little identify.

Having said that - I don’t think we can relieve the veterans on the ice from their responsibility - this team just looks leaderless, from the coaches and the on-ice teammates.

Doesn’t help that their #1 goalie hasn’t been able to bail them out from their mistakes, in the first in Denver or the first in Pittsburgh.

They look like the Kirk Muller era Canes. Some promise, some effort, but mostly just treading water and everybody knows it.

This is the only system that I see d-men chasing puck carriers all the way up to the blue line.

Blame it on coach's system or the players. Either way, JC is failing as the head coach. If his system does not call for d chasing puck carriers all over ice then start benching guys.

Either JC does not hold players accountable within his "system" or his system flat out sucks.

There are guys on this team that know how to play hockey......so I lean to the system calls for guys chasing the puck all over the d zone.

I agree. Never seen a professional team have all 5 guys on 1 side off the ice as much as this team. It’s the norm.

I don’t know how long of a leash colliton has but I can’t imagine a worst start to the season than this

Actually it's characteristic of the last year or two under Q but I think Colliton has more talent in the lineup...though you'd be hard pressed to argue it after these first three games.

Looks like same lineup except Flower in for Lankinen, then after 12 minutes back to Lankinen.

Gus caught in deep in the O zone on one shift leading to a 2 on 1 Penguin goal. Not saying Mitchell is the next Keith but play him to gainsm some experience instead of Gus.

Babcock? Trots? I don’t think there is any way Stan can bring in another young, unproven coach.
