What has he done to 'deserve' a chance?
He is a spare forward because he deserves to be watching. And he should be sitting right next to Gustaffson in the press box. - RickJ
One if you want to move him he needs to be seen ,Two he had a high ankle sprain last year and those can be tricky .Three he played well the year before it not unheard of that young players have a tough year and bounce back . I am not a huge fan of Stromes and stated I would rather see Entwhistle playing and playing more . |

Sorry about the poor spelling... trying to Voice Text while driving. Yes....not smart either.
My apologies. - Hawkytalk
I couldn't tag on to your other post because more so than spelling, it was the absence of paragraph breaks that gave me a headache...just sayin'
Love your post though. Dach's a stiff but Hughes is already "GREAT"? He likely will be and it was a great play in the gimmick overtime where the ice opens up.
Help me understand exactly what he's done though that has him already achieving greatness. He and Dach produced points at about the same clip their rookie seasons. It could even be argued Dach outperformed him as Dach was apparently not deserving of the #3 overall pick by a lot of accounts.
Kirby pretty much gets a mulligan on last season but Hughes had what a dozen goals and 30 pts in 56 games last season? As a number one overall shouldn't he be putting up a ppg type numbers?
Those are Dylan Strome type numbers, or at least at one time so maybe he's also great. |

It's only been 3 games so far but the same issues continues d zone coverage and transition too many high danger attempts against etc... but these issues have been there even before JC became the head coach. But it's been 3 plus years so it's a lack of teaching communication and exciting the system JC is running or its the wrong personal and lack of adjustments. Let's see where the hawks are after 10 to 15 games if the same issues continue then coaching change is needed and then pressure switches to the gm bowman. Imo hawks as currently constructed is not a playoff team anyway. |

I'm okay with JC going, as he is not a friend or relative of mine. Some posters here are often worried about the feelings of the players, especially the vets. Just wanted to point out that if the Hawks can JC, they are going to hire a coach who doesn't care about the feelings of the players. And said posters will whine, which I too will enjoy. - mohel
I am too. Mostly just to see what people will whine about when he's gone. Even if the team starts performing better and is in a surefire playoff spot you know some of the posters here will be female doging about something.
It's not like we haven't seen it before. When the Hawks were winning Cups in '13 and '15, people weren't satisfied with the plethora of all-star caliber players already on the team, felt we needed more and still found plenty to complain about. |

Absolutely. Since JC got here, whining poster have clutched their pearls fretting that Toews, or Kane, or Keith or Seabrook wouldn't like the coach and wouldn't play hard for him. There was also fear that free agents would never play here if JC was too mean. The same posters also complain that JC hasn't been able to get the players to play defense. We need a veteran coach they say. They will be at the wailing wall when the new coach lays down the law. |

One thing else I think a more experienced defensive coach is needed not brookbank. |

Wonder if having to wait for all these cornball opening night ceremonies has hurt the Hawks starts .Should not they are professionals but they are also human . |

Hawks should give the other team a 1-0 lead to start the game. It would be less embarrassing. |

Has a coach ever been fired during a game? First intermission seems like a good time for a change to me. |

Not sure if a coaching change will actually matter, but it’s pretty much inevitable at this point. |

Not the start MAF wanted tonight. Not that the team in front has had a great start, but a shaky start in net. |

Offense: Kane, Cat, and Gus dancing around the perimeter accomplishing absolutely nothing.
Defense: An absolute train wreck
