Gaudette cut you off in traffic or something LA?
- HawkintheD

No, I don't see what the hype is about him, especially since he is allergic to the defensive zone, just what the Hawks need right now, another 130 foot forward.

Gave him a two-handed slash to the new Achilles. I don't blame LA for the angst.

Well, poop...why didn't he just say so? My bad LA. May his yeast infection come back with a vengeance!

Yet somehow he puts points up. I can't explain it. If he was to play it better be with speed that can cover for his defensive deficiencies. My problem with that is I want the speed attacking, not helping defend.

Like the Swedish National team coach once said about Mario Lemieux near the end of his career - "he moves like an old tractor". And then Mario burned the Swedes for a couple of goals and a couple assists in a beatdown.

Unfortunately for the Hawks, the reference to the tractor applies to Strome but there is no comparison to Mario.

Since being acquired Strome's points:
51 in 58 games
38 in 58 games
17 in 40 games

He's not putting up points anymore, and the rest of his game is suspect. If he actually would continually play like he does when he's pissed off, then he would be a good asset to have on the team, but as was mentioned before, he seems to always revert back to his unfortunate mean.

It really pisses me off seeing guys with offensive potential who are tweeners refuse to play defensively. Brandon Pirri comes to mind. Had he played even a rudimentary defensive game he would have had a decent NHL career but he was so bad defensively his scoring prowess couldn’t overcome it. Gaudette and Strome are two others who could get an NHL gig if they weren’t so (frank)ing lazy. Defense doesn’t take skill, all it takes is learning how to play defensively, hard work and dedication.

Lankinen starting for Blackhawks. Gaudette in for Carpenter. Gustafsson in for Mitchell. Strome still scratched.

So JC finallly is putting in future Hockey Buzz board HOF Adam Gaudette!!!

What in the flying heck is the point of playing Gus over Mitchell. He didn't play much, but when out there Mitchell was a benefit to the team according to the fancies.

Or when you are slow as time and in a speed league....you have to cheat. Strome skates like he's moving a couch tied to his back. Likely why JC put him at wing.....

Havent' seen enough of Gaudette to say he's not an upgrade defensively over Strome.

What was the point of leaving the 4th line on the ice vs Avs 1st line last game?

All great news out of Maple Leafs camp Paul. First, the Senators kicked their asses last night. Goalie Mrazek goes down with a groin pull. Because it is the Leafs, I hope he is on the shelf for 2 years because they have little or nothing for goaltending depth. If Jack Campbell goes down too, it will be you or me or a high school kid or the Zamboni driver between the pipes.

Stan needs to get to Kyle Dumbass with a trade proposal - Shaw's contract + Delia or Subban + Strome for Auston Mathews.

IF and that's a HUGE IF...he's used correctly I can stomach it....

Plays PP only AND an offensive zone start with a responsible D partner AND responsible forward line that plays 200 ft of hockey.

Problem I see is that when you are thin at defensive depth you are asking a lot of the other 5 guys to eat up minutes to dress him, unless you go 7 D....So now we will see more of 44 which may lead me to stroke out tonight.

Somewhere Wayne is in tears....he was all in on the leafs Thursday and giving inspirational pep talks to millions of Americans who gives ZERO poops about the leafs about how to overcome that adversity when you are expected to win. Love Wayne, but TV is not his cup of tea.

has anyone check on Pierre LeBrun yet? He may be in bath tub somewhere with all this news.

Been reading Canucksarmy about what they said about him over the years. There was a reason why Jay Beagle and Brandon Sutter always played before him, ven though Gaudette was considered a much better offensive player

Wayne is OK in a short interview but forget it as an introverted studio personality or analyst who might need to critique a player or a team. But the U.S. TV partners wanted to spend big on a name and he couldn't refuse. Doubt he will be there very long.

Maybe he was taking the long term view and seeing if they could be trusted as a shutdown line? How did Q figure out if Kruger, who was originally signed to be Kane's center end up there?
