We didn't even deserve a point, pretty fortunate to get 2 goals while the goalie was pulled, but whats concerning is the 5 on 5 hockey, seems to be struggling again this year - BetweenTheDots
Bad defensive structure and Murphy is my guess |

They didn't lose because they put Gus on the ice. They lost because they coughed up the puck and gave the Devils a 2 on 1. Jack Hughes is gonna make pretty much anyone looks silly with his skill in that situation. - breadbag
Agreed. Dach can not make that pass 200 feet away from his net in OT unless he's got a sure thing. Also, I'd like to see Hagel on line 1 with Toews and Kuni. He creates more scoring chances and is better defensively than Kurashev. |

How many players at the end of the game/within the last 5min were playing shifts over 1:30?
His bench management is atrocious.

I'm surprised Dach made that backhand shot since he didn't have sufficient time in the minor leagues to work on it. |

Don't disagree. Dach made a bad play in that situation. The kid's 20 and he looks more like his bubble self than his coming back after broken wrist self which bodes well.
Dach seems to have a pretty good sense of self awareness and an intention on being hell bent to be better. Nice to see him knock one in tonite. |

Kurashev is fine with Toews and Kubilak
That line should match up vs other teams top lines every game. All 3 play responsible hockey. Let that line play together- just slot them/match them correctly
Hagel is a good 3rd line player as he drives play/likes to carry the puck on his stick. He stretches your lineup.
Instead, dufus behind the bench believed the Entswittle line was a better matchup vs COL top line the other night....amongst other senseless moves. |

I would prefer Gus wasn’t on the team. But it’s easier to blame one player then to evaluate the play. - paulr
No kidding. Blindly throwing it in the slot with 2 guys low wasn’t ideal by Kirby.
Could have Kane not floated to the outside and leave Hughes 1 on 1 after his guy went right? Probably.
They battled and got a point. Again look at -3 for Kane and debrincat and Murphy….and a -2 for McCabe. The veterans need to be better in all zones. |

The more I think about it, Gus didn’t lose us the game, but he has no business being on this team, none, and he should for sure not be out there 3 on 3. |

Pretty common to cough up the puck in a 3-on-3...which is why I wouldn't put someone with questionable defensive skills in the D role at that time
Was he 100% to blame, no, but I don't think he should have been put in that situation - pdx2ord
Is it? Chasing down a missed a shot and blindly throwing it blindly in the slot is common? With 2 guys, yourself included, low?
Nah…..bad play by all 3. Kane can’t fly by on the back check and peel off to cover…..nobody. |

I don’t disagree but if Kane doesn’t force a shot and hold possession and/or dach doesn’t throw a hope pass to the middle and keeps possession…..could they have survived with Gus out there? Maybe….big gamble by JC and it hurt him. |

It was a bad play by all three, but to my non-hockey expert eyes, possession during 3-on-3 seems to change hands frequently, which is what makes it so exciting to watch.
My point was and is, given that, I wouldn't have a weaker D d-man out there. To each his own. |

YA the 4th line against Col top line was bad especially when they managed to get the opportunity to make the change players and announcers looked and sounded confused .I like that the team battled back and got the point tonight tough break for Entwhistle on the post then goal against team kept it's composure and got the point .Think the team may have been looking forward to Pitt and a big game for Flurey and the team . Coach needs to watch his back lot knife out their and not without merit |

Huge gamble for sure. Let’s hope they win tomorrow. 1-1-1 is a solid beginning coming off a 3 game roadie for a team looking to build confidence. |

Colliton's last year as a PLAYER was 2014 in Europe.
By 2018 he is somehow qualified to coach the Hawks...following Q and the franchise's most successful run.
Fans deserve better than this. |

Genuine question as someone who has never played the game - how do the players know when to come off the ice if not based on when they start to feel heavy legs/tired?
