He really does seem to use shifts as a reward, which to a point I can understand, but he does the same in OT which is exactly when you have to use your best players whether they were the "tryest the hardest" players that evening or not

They didn't lose because they put Gus on the ice. They lost because they coughed up the puck and gave the Devils a 2 on 1. Jack Hughes is gonna make pretty much anyone looks silly with his skill in that situation.

Pretty common to cough up the puck in a 3-on-3...which is why I wouldn't put someone with questionable defensive skills in the D role at that time

Was he 100% to blame, no, but I don't think he should have been put in that situation

We didn't even deserve a point, pretty fortunate to get 2 goals while the goalie was pulled, but whats concerning is the 5 on 5 hockey, seems to be struggling again this year

I would prefer Gus wasn’t on the team. But it’s easier to blame one player then to evaluate the play.
