I'm curious, :

You're clearly a huge Sabres supporter. Does it hurt too much to watch the games? I understand family and time constraints, but it's a new refreshing team.

I guess that it helps that I like both captains and 71sniper.☝️
That was the best game in a few years...

- Boss34

Sometimes its hard to watch the games because of my kids and their activities. It's not like the Bills where there is 17 games to watch, dedicating time to 82 games is damn near impossible and especially when the effort was awful the last couple of seasons.

If Stones injury is long term, than the Temp. in Vegas just went up.

maybe. But it shouldn't matter regardless. Jack is a long term acquisition for contract and injury alone.

Great game to watch, but that Habs team quit after giving up the third goal. I loved our puck movement in the offensive zone, although a number of players tried carrying the puck over the blue line with little success.

My greatest concern however is how badly we chase, when in the defensive zone. Happens to a lot of teams on the cycle, but Sabres seem to collapse even more to the net making it easier on the other team to keep possession.

A lot of players mentioned looked good, including Asplund, who was flying at times. I still wanna see Ruotsalainen's speed in the lineup. Wasn't hoping for it to come at the cost of Mittelstadt though.

Watched the Olofsson goal on PVR in slow motion and still couldn't see it, lol awesome

donnie had a front row seat on how to not coach a team thanks to ralph

I think this is an really good point that shouldn't be overlooked. Years ago, I worked for a horrible boss. The absolute worst human being I've ever met and the most toxic work environment I've ever experienced. When I reflect on my time there, my biggest takeaway was that it taught me what not to do to employees when I moved into management later in my career. Same principles apply to any leadership role.

Mitts went from top prospect to almost bust to band aid, staying on this trajectory he should be the next Connolly for a season and a half.

Joker - IMO should be a tradeable player by deadline day this year. Valuable but the organization is heavy D, could get another 1st or big return of prospects/forwards

100% agreed. I learned how not to handle situations watching train wrecks that occurred.

I think what most people who fall into the "I don't expect to watch much" club are and have been saying is that the roster looks to be that of a bottom team, and having watched 10 years of mostly piss poor hockey, they just are not expecting to watch them lose night after night...myself included.

Call me what you will, but having watched this team for probably 70 games a season for 50-sh seasons, it is now on the Sabres to "show me".

They did just that last night...very fun and very much entertaining... I'll watch again to see what happens.

It’s evident that Dahlin’s defensive game may never be elite.

Erik Karlsson never played much defence either though.

Find Dahlin a Marc Methot type and let him go buck wild and live with the defensive mishaps if it means elite offence the other way

- Pegullaville

This is the 3rd season I have stated much the same. They don't have an effective partner for Dahlin, and they need to source one.

I get the organization not doing much in that regard this season, as I still believe a dignified tank is the objective, so I won't hold it against them for another year.

Maybe.
If and only if Dahlin moves to the Right, as Samuelsson is a lefty as well.

I'm not sure that is the best idea..putting a projected 2nd/3rd pairing guy up on 1st so young.
To me, it is more of what the Sabres have done going on forever now ... play guys a line higher than their capability.

Just go get a shut down Righty.

it's nice to have a coach again that uses the 9 million dollar winger on the first team pp instead of burying him in the press box

Bingo.
I'm not opposed to trading Joker, but get a 1st pairing Righty, then they still need to plug another Righty if they trade Joker.

A solid RhD, A-level prospect should be a target in an Eichel trade...IMO of course.

Just play like that every night. Even if the results don't come, show the fans a brighter future.

I expected to watch 10 minutes last night and I was drawn in for the whole game. Can't wait for the border to open now!
