We could have had 0 points coming home, I'll take it! - 668710
I'll take it, too, but that Ekblad goal was BS. They reffed the score on that one. There's no way they still had sight of the puck with six players and the goalie covering that crease. That whistle should have been blown. |

Penalties galore tonight. Just wild. Could be a long season if refs call like that - Shynes57
I feel like that is very common for early season. By January it will be cut in half and by the playoffs only 2 of those are called |

Eh. It was a good goal. Ref tried to find the puck and it squirted out in the process. I’ve got no problem with it. |

I'm not gonna complain about it, but when they lose sight they usually blow it. Now maybe he did see it so it's whatever. But we've all seen way quicker whistles. |

This was my thought as well. If the pens had that chance and it was blown dead, everyone woulda been super pist. |

What are the chances Sid is in the lineup tomorrow night? Some of you guys are following twitter hands, have The Athletic subs and what not. In my fantasy league moves take a day to go through. So if I wanted Sid to be in lineup tomorrow night I'd have to activate him off IR today... |

I've always wanted the refs to wait a bit longer in most cases, unless its the cup final vs the Preds of course haha, so overall I think I'm fine with it but last night the ref had zero clue where it was. Boyle was at the bottom of the scrum, pushed it out to the slot with his glove and while the puck was going out there and being shot the ref was up on the net looking down into it hahah..he had no clue where it was, so yeah, there's been a hell of a lot quicker whistles than that. |

That's the thing. So often we see these super quick whistles. I'm not getting up-in-arms about it, but they were reffing the score and nothing more. If that happened in the middle of the 2nd period it would have been blown dead.

Yeah thats what I kind of figured....thinking they may want another full practice or two which I'm pretty sure wouldn't happen until next week....

It's not a big deal. It's nothing new and part of the game. Things like that should always be expected by teams, but it is what it is.

From Yohe:
The Penguins can’t afford to lose many more players. Crosby could return to the lineup within a week, though he isn’t expected to play in the home opener. Still, the Penguins’ forward depth is already being severely tested. Rust is one of their most valuable players in every department. He’s an even-strength force, Crosby’s preferred right wing, a good penalty killer and a reliable presence on the power play. |
