He has clearly decided he's going to shoot more this year.

When Gretzky made that decision, he scored 92 goals that year.

Yes, I just went there.

Deal with it.

He had 4 shots on goal (tied for third on the leafs), got a point, and nearly everyone still whines.

A lot of leaf fans unfortunately are flat out impossible to impress

He had a point?

Must have been pity by the ref.

Marner is so good, he gets assists from the bench.

No really, he had a second assist on Nylander's goal, after Nylander replaced him.

From Kevin McGrann's blog in the Star:

Weird fact of the night: Marner got an assist on Nylander’s winner, but not a plus, even though the goal came at even strength. Marner passed to Morgan Rielly, then headed to the bench. Rielly passed to Nylander, who came on for Marner. Nylander scored, fooling Jake Allen with a little fake.

That point of his was a secondary assist earned while he was actually sitting on the bench. I mean, if we're going to get technical.

Edit: looks like Leafs43 beat me to it.

In the past 2 years, he's #74 in the league in scoring.

That's not super-terrific, but it does indicate he's a top line scorer.

He’s also top 5 in points and people whine he isn’t generating offence

Nothing more than foolishness

Well you think I’m an “idiot” because I believe bringing in another top tier C at the cost of the team’s best winger is a mistake

I thought Marner was good last night but all he did on that goal was pass the puck back to Rielly and then get off the ice.
