absolutely not directed at you or Vantel, but since when do we benchmark what a Dman should or shouldn't make based off of points.
McAvoy is one of the best 5v5 defenders in the league. He makes the same as Seth Jones, is 3 years younger, and is 100x better. Not only is he a top pairing Dman at 5v5, but hes also first unit PP, gets shots through consistently, and is only getting better.
I dunno, considering what other Dmen got paid this off season, I would take Makar/McAvoy at their new contracts than Heiskanen/Hughes/Werenski/Jones/Pelech/Pulock/Hamilton at theirs. - Codes1087
Heiskenin that's it. Contract is fine. Kid earned it. He's a beast. There's a reason we aren't that good and solid de is a huge part |

I understand Petro and Hamilton, given their reputations, but how do you have McAvoy over the guy who literally just won the Norris last year? - NorthNuck
I don't base it just off points.
Even Jfresh War has given McAvoy 100% and Fox only 99% |

Most D are overpaid, especially those that aren't Norris calibre all-around D-men like Hedman, Makar, Heiskanen or even Dahlin who took a reasonable bridge. Most of the D that got huge contracts are either PMD's that need to be sheltered defensively (like Hughes, Barrie, Jones and Werenski) or defensive D that just hang back and don't do much else like Pulock, Pelech and Ekholm. Sadly, the Heiskanen contract basically set the market even though I don't think he's worth that much over the long term and the SCF run the Stars had kind of raised his profile to where that sort of deal was offered.
Heiskanen set the minimum for an 8 year deal for everyone and Dahlin set the bridge price. It's shocking that for a lot of the D that got signed, they went 6-8 year deals (even if some were 27+) knowing that the deals will look horrible in 3-4 years as the player ages and gets injured. |

The good thing about starting the season on the road is the endless roster announcements we get to hear of other teams that we couldn't give a rats ass about |

2nd year now with something on the helmet. Don't you remember some whining about Ads on helmets and jerseys?
What's with Greens system that the Canucks aren't allowed to have a shot on net within the first 5 minutes of the game? 70% of the games under Greens |
