Mrazek is crazy inconsistent as we know. If I were then I’d trade nylander ASAP to invest more in the d Corp. I don’t think those teams were structured so poorly however. 40 mil in 4 forwards with the cap how it is is asking for trouble. Further. The game they play is run and fun with a view to our scoring you. The playoffs are not played that way and they can’t adjust. I think last year was their best shot and some major changes need to come soon or their window will be closed. The Tavares signing hasn’t worked out at all and they’re hamstrung unless they re structure.

I wouldn't trade Nylander. He's really starting to come into his own. He's capable of hitting an even higher tier of production, and his all-around game is starting to come along.

Matthews is the best goal scorer in the league, bar none. Better than OV. As we stated earlier, OV was making almost 20% of the cap coming off his ELC. Matthews is making 15%. Should he be paid AAV $15-16M? Not for the sake of his team's fortunes. But is he actually worth that much? Yes.

I wouldn't trade Nylander. He's really starting to come into his own. He's capable of hitting an even higher tier of production, and his all-around game is starting to come along.

OV was scoring at about a .66 goals per game at age of 23. Matthews is pretty darn close at .60

Tough call. The fact that Matthews can produce at ES better than anyone is telling. But how do you argue over a guy flirting with Gretzky's record and he tallied 2 last night?

Not an ideal line-up to start the season but look what the Pens did. I'm looking forward to a win.

understand what you're saying. I feel last year was an outlier just due to the situation. Like McDavid. yes he is amazing...but 105 points in 56 games....are we in the 80's again. That canadian division was terrible. Those guys just feasted. We will see what he does this year, and if he finally breaks 50.
