Not saying it is exactly the same but look at when the Flyers got Tyler Pitlick. Not many thought a lot about the Flyers getting him but he was a solid player who seemed to be beneficial to the Flyers. Again not saying its the exact same thing but i'll let it play out before i decide if these claims are worthless or not.

For those of you that like negativity, here is a recent article oozing with it:

https://deadspin.com/2021...good-move-sinc-1847847732

But this article did bring up a question that reminded me of something I noticed last year also, did this team quit on AV last year? Were the trades of Ghost and Jake simply because they were on the forefront of being at odds with AV? I can see some merit in these questions, so thought I would raise them here.

Its clear with these two waiver pickups that Fletcher believes this Flyers team was not yet hard enough to play against, so he is bringing in pieces to do just that. During to 10/12 ‎Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus, Steve Coates talked about how important it was for the Flyers to be a tougher team to play against, and what it means to be tough to play against; it was really interesting. Coates also had some harsh words for Frost and Bunnaman, and I can't say I blamed him either. We'll see what happens with Frost in the AHL but at least he has somewhat of an excuse, but what is Bunnaman's excuse?? This guy should have been ready to at least take the 4C role, and its a big disappointment that he couldn't even do that!

Oh Ellis might be hurt? I wish you could all see my shocked face right now.
- SuperSchennBros

Can we even try to be a little objective, the guy took a puck off his leg because he was doing what a good defenseman should do, trying to block a shot!

Well if didnt see this when the offseason began than shame on him. Does adding 2 borderline NHL really address this issue if that is what he believes.

Bunnys excuse is maybe he just isn't an NHL player at this point.

That was one thing Pitlick was good at. He got on the forecheck, solid in his own zone, pain in the ass to play against and then chipped in some offense.

I'm not against fighting, but I don't miss it. Especially for retired players who were designated fighters who have experienced mental health issues and CTE. I always found it to be contrived entertainment to stage a fight or two each game, with designated combatants. I like physical hockey with hard body checking, and if a player crosses over the line with his opponent, then that might be a good reason to take matters up with the fists. But only when necessary, and not as an obligatory activity. And not always with the same people. Another thing that I thought was ridiculous. Matters weren't even solved between the 2 players who had the beef. Always had to call upon your fighter to fight for you later in the game. This is all foolish. Matters between the players should be handled by those players.

From Elite Prospects on MacEwen:

He has a nose for the net and a quick release on his shot. Defensively active and backchecks hard. Wins a majority of his puck battles

Sounds like exactly what this lineup needs. I don't think he has been given much of a chance in Vancouver based on his number of games and average minutes. I think he could be a diamond in the rough for the Flyers. I'm interested in seeing, if he earns more ice time from AV, how he does.

How old is that write up? For when he was in junior hockey? Love diamonds in the rough

I thought the knock on Pitlick coming in was that he was always injured. I don’t think anyone thought he was a bad player.

He is still a pretty young player, only played a handful of NHL games, so there is still room for growth here, especially seeing he played under 10 minutes a game in those games he did play.

The players share blame, but when the vast majority of the youth on this team continuously seems to stagnate or regress as a collective.

One has to start question more than just the players.

Do you think there was a reason he only played under 10 minutes a night?

Pullock signs for 6.15 per season. That's a sweet deal for NYI. With that signing does this help shape up how much RR will be paid? Or does it have no effect?

Sure, it may be because he Sucks, or it may be because the West typically does not play a style of hockey that fits his type of game, and thus he was not valued. I think his game, from what I have read, fits the East style of hockey more, so this may work out better than you think.

I don’t know a lot about MacEwen, but I do know that most of the comments on Friedman’s tweet were Vancouver fans who were upset that they lost him. That’s gotta be a good sign, right? Maybe a fan favorite?

Any comment I’ve seen has suggested fans will love him and he’s hardworking.
