Looking forward to the game but I suspect an ass-kickin….5-1 Oilers - LeftCoaster
Oilers lost their version of Tanev(Larsson) and Smith is pretty old. Keith is a shell of himself and Ceci has bounced around the league for a reason. I think they’ll give up plenty of goals throughout the season |

Demko's not looking very sharp yet and Green didn't exactly find much chemistry among the forwards. You may be right... but the PP could be the difference for the Canuck's if they don't spend the whole game in the box themselves.

Oiler have the #1 PP in the league along with its best two forwards. Canucks take a lot of penalties, at least they did in the pre-season. |

I've followed the team long enough to know that the formula is bad preseason means good season start and vice versa. The better or worse the preseason, the more inverse success to start the regular season.
Assessing all the preseason numbers and factoring in the wind, Canucks will win tonight 5-3.
The only thing guaranteed about tonight is McDavid will cry about something or other. |

I'm thinking it's going to be a very close low scoring game as the two teams are still looking for their identities. 2-1 Canucks |

Shaw taking over as the interim head coach was already decided on HB when he was hired. The only issue is when. I'm sticking with January. |

The best offensive players are always the biggest whiners, with Gretzky and Lemieux coming immediately to mind.
I’d love to have Connor McDavid on the Canucks, but he’d probably be requesting a trade after this season just like he’s going to be doing with the Oilers |

I don't think Green makes it to Christmas, all it would take is an injury to one of Petey, Miller, QH or OEL and we're out of the playoff picture. |

I wonder how many draft picks Benning will spend to acquire some toughness now? - LeftCoaster
I expect both Gads and Zac Mac to return to waivers soon. To which Van could claim and send them to Abbotsford. |

Francesco will throw another hissy fit by December 1st and fire both Green and Benning….followed by announcing he’s hired another inexperienced GM because no one with an ounce of a backbone wants to work for him. |

As Jim Benning said to Lloyd Christmas, there's always the chance the team stays injury free this year. |

Why claim someone for free when you can spend draft picks? |

I don’t think this is accurate. I believe the other 30 teams would also have to pass. If someone wants him in the NHL that’s where he would play 1st.
But yes, I expect they will both be available on waivers again. |

I believe the team who lost him on waivers gets first crack if he's put back on waivers. At that point, no waivers needed to send him down.
