does this mean you guys will be looking to get another winger. Tarasenko has 2goals and 2 assists in 4 pre-season games. he has been deemed 100% healthy by surgeon and his shot velocity is crazy again. He has had almost 6-7 goals in pre-season. Just barely missing net. The accuracy will come back in time.
Blues need young dmen. Maybe Kravstov and Mathew roberston or just 2nd and braden schnieder. |

So just toss away a top 10 pick for minimal value? - TPC
Would he still have a ton of value playing in the AHL after not making the club again and already once bolting to Russia because he wasn't happy? |

He could have a career as a KHL legend who remained NYR property forever. |

There was NO excuse for Keeping Hajek up and sending Kravs down, We all know the history of how and why we got Hajek, but that regime and ship has sailed.
But, Kravs need to stop acting like a 5 year old. What is the team supposed to do, treat him differently than everyone else? That's where locker room problems start. He only has 20 career games under his belt.
We sent a bunch of young talented kids down, they understand, and accepted it, I haven't seen Zac Jones demanding a trade |

it's like if a teacher has a very disruptive student and the teacher hits the student with a textbook.... is the student an bumhole? sure. was the teacher expected to handle that better and not commit a crime? absolutely. this is the nhl equivalent of a teacher hitting a disruptive student with a textbook - picklerick
I don't know if this is the best analogy though.
The Rangers did the right thing in treating Kravstov like any other player and not giving him special treatment, when he didn't really earn it yet. In hindsight you wish they handled this a bit differently to try and retain him somehow, but what's the alternative? Keep him up here and healthy scratch him game 1 just for him to throw a fit then instead of now? Or force the new coach to play a guy who he doesn't feel gives him the best shot of winning opening night in order to appease an unproven prospect?
I would say it's more like your company hired someone with an Ivy League degree. You work your ass off, understand your job and role and accomplish all your day to day tasks, and go above and beyond. While the Ivy League guy goes on a 2 week vacation right after starting, does the bare minimum when he gets back, and then he gets the promotion and raise over you because of his degree and because the company doesn't want to lose someone with Ivy League credentials. |

i'm not saying they shouldve tried to retain him necessarily. Just don't do the thing that drives down his trade value more than literally anything else, which is allow it to deteriorate so fast and so publicly. the team is the teacher, which has the professional obligation of acting professionally (like the adult in the room), whereas kravtsov is the student who has rules to follow but is not held to the same professional standard that the team is. |

All those feelings of punching a wall for passing on Wahlstrom coming rushing back… doesn’t feel like this will end well.
Anyone have a guess on the return? Don’t see a 1st rounder. Pass on a 2nd rounder (he’s way more valuable than Andersson). Maybe a similar type player, drafted 1st round but hasn’t found his stride yet. - TC88
I don't think he'll get that. Guy with limited NHL sample who refuses to earn his place and throws tantrums when he doesn't make the cut. Not exactly what GMs will want to deal with, despite his skill set. |

Im wondering if Kravtsov is still bitter about the Buchnevich trade.
Kravtsov, although had shown flashes of some solid skill, was always imo a tradeable asset.
As far as people beating him out. Gauthier did have a good preseason, however I think the shocker was Blais. Blais might have earned himself a spot up the lineup this pushing Kravtsov out.
I will trust the process. I have faith in Gallant. |
