DOC demotion incoming when he fails to produce next to Boyle and Lafferty. - Tojo.
I'm personally not expecting too much scoring at first. IMO if he can maintain how effective he was away from the puck in the off-season then he's a success. At the very least that would make him more effective than Lafferty. Now, I don't mean I don't expect scoring to be part of the evaluation, but the context should be taken into consideration since this is now the regular season. IMO if he's at least helping create scoring chances then it will lead to more production down the road.

Think coaches son, we've all seen it. The coach always puts his son with the best players.
I like it though, that means Blueger isn't the shut down center. Boyle is, for now. It also means he gets o-zone starts, maybe even see Letang on D. Whether Teddy B and McGinn can carry Simon is another question. At least we'll see if he can handle an elevated role.

That makes perfect sense. I'm just guessing what I think will happen. They have to make 3 more spots in the line-up soon, so I don't know if DOC is going to have a chance to do enough on a 4th line to keep his spot. He'll need to jump not just Lafferty but 2 other people as well |

Nah. Blueger is still the shut down center. Boyle's line will see limited and sheltered minutes. It's the same as past years when the line-up is depleted. |

Crosby, Malkin and Letang have been on the Pens' roster together for 1,066 regular season games. They've dressed together for 586 of those (54.97%).

They'd rather play Friedman on his off-side than play Riikola. I still will never understand their disdain for this player who IMO is diamond in the rough. |

So glad to have ESPN doing hockey again. Who wants a season preview, NHL news or analysis of the 2 teams about to play on opening night when you can have some garbage band playing instead???? |

The band sucked, but other than that it's been fine. I don't really blame ESPN for the band. Any time hockey broadcasts have had live bands it's always poopty.
