And that's the hope..
He is the casualty if a dman is brought in, considering no major injuries of course, Liljegren is an obvious option too, but he doesn't have the starting spot. - aries1976
I truly believe they like Liljegren but don’t want to basically pair up two rookies when they consider themselves cup contenders. My hope (not my thoughts but my hope) is that Sandin plays well enough to let them allow Rielly to walk (since he’s going to land about 9 million long term), then Sandin takes his role and then Liljegren gets the full time role on the bottom pairing
Well hopefully Brooks can play decently for you defensively then. You guys may end up liking him quite a bit if he does. He’s a plus 5 for his 18 games in the NHL, so perhaps he’s not too bad at that - Dozzer
oh for sure, but if we're talking immediate needs I highly doubt Brooks could step in and do the same job Danault was doing.

Oh no, you’re right… Brooks is basically a rookie claimed off waivers and Danault signed for 5.5 million
I think it’s safe to say who is the better player.
I guess what I’m hoping for you is that Brooks proves he’s NHL worthy and can do a good bottom 6 job. I think if given a true chance, he’ll prove that he’s a decent player at least.

yeah, ideally they'd need a guy to play 2C, so that Dvorak gets the 3C role. Bergevin has been collecting bottom 6 centermen lately, so we'll see where this leads us lol

Lol well I’ll hope it works out for the team unless they’re playing the leafs at which point I’ll hope it fails incredibly.

I dont ever think about the Habs and Im always so bored with continually playing them in the preseason and the reg season.
But I do hate the bruins.....well anything boston related. - Fakepartofme
Actually a decent city to visit, as is Montreal. (frank) the Boston sports teams and the Montreal ones, except the Expos, they're ok by me. Jays vs Expos world series would be nice, (Jays winning of course) Could you imagine how pissed US media and fans would be?

The Habs are frustrating, but not unlikeable. No matter what happens, they always overachieve to poop all over the Leafs. It's just heartbreaking really.
