Mikko Lehtonen (CBJ) has been placed on unconditional waivers for a buyout. He failed to report to AHL Cleveland.

The comments on Twitter (several reporters have tweeted this) are quite curious.
Leafs bring a guy over, he can't make the roster, so they trade him for nothing.
Guy can't make the Blue Jackets (after they re-sign him as a UFA), so they cut him.
And apparently this reflects poorly on the Leafs? |

Transfer payments are based on what revenue shows on the income statement using GAAP. Tax laws are not relevant. - winsix
Wasn’t referring to transfer payments, just value of franchise to owners |

We have purchased scalped tickets at game time in Sunrise and sat so close to Price, I could spit on him...well, 8 rows off the dot. face value $104.00 - bixll
If there is a worse location for an arena...
...oh wait, the one in Chicago.
Carry on. |

He won a $1m lottery and the opportunity to make it in the NHL. Even if he doesn't make it, the opportunity, the skills, the lessons, the coaching and the experience are things he'll take away along with the money.
There's nothing negative about that stuff. It's win/win, really. The organizations don't lose for taking a shot with a guy who wants to try and may have the skills to succeed. How can the player lose for taking the opportunity? The skill level of the AHL is basically on par with the KHL and above the SHL. |

Each?
And I’m not surprised tickets are far more here but the league doesn’t simply rely on that… television contracts coupled with media on tv and the walls makes even more a fortune in the states… Turner Sports just took it on for $225,000,000 a year
I was just reading it up a bit and pretty much other than the popular cities ticket sales are looked at as the way to cover costs. That way all the other stuff is profit. Averaging roughly 50 million a season. |

Oh frank yes.
I remember our concierge (we stayed in Manhattan) explaining how to get to the game:
"Take the PATH train. Get off at X station. Walk indoors through a mall (follow everyone else), down an escalator, out the doors - then run as as fast as you can across the street, and into the arena. Do not wander away for any reason." |

Small victory.
Like tying your shoes when you're 300lbs. Like chewing a Jolly Rancher when you're wearing your dentures. Like a Bantam player scoring in the NHL.

No idea.
There are already t-shirts, hoodies, etc. with a similar name/logo but it's not official merchandise.
Habs have already sold a ton of Caufield jerseys though. |
