I don't think Lammikko has cleared waivers. Juulsen has.

Another key point, though: Juulsen's a righty!

I guess Rathbone is sticking then. Nighthawk was right (For once ).

Juulsen has been mentioned a few times on here over the last three years . Hamonic going down and Schenn stinking up training camp Juulsen has a shot. Not sure how good he is seeing Habs let him go and Fla waived him.

The forward they got in this deal seems more intriguing than Juulsen. Apparently was a skilled prospect but adjusted his game to become a physical player that plays a two-way game. Florida has a deep forward group so there’s no shame I’m not making that top 12 for a quality 4th line player

Juulsen only played nine games last year - four with the Panthers & five with Syracuse. I think Job 1 will be to ensure he's healthy before he starts pushing for an NHL spot. He does make Abby a bit more interesting, though!

He played in three preseason games, so that's a good sign. Lammikko was in four.

Thanks Carol, exciting times! Did Jim make up for loosing Gadj for nothing by getting two players back for Juolevi?

If Hamonic clears that’s an extra mill in cap space, minus whatever they have to pay his replacement. I guess terminating the contract will depend on if Hamonic is refusing to report, or if the Clubs vaccine policy is keeping him from reporting. Is their policy organization wide, of just for Vancouver team/staff? If all players in Abbotsford also need to be vaccinated then nothing has really changed.

[quote=RealityChecker]Fair enough. Seems like the opposite of OJ. Makes up in smarts where he lacks in skating. OJ lacked the smarts to make up for his deficiencies.

I disagree though with you that a ceiling second paring d (you agreeing with nyn) would be a difference maker on this team but it makes sense coming from you considering you were glad that OJ made the team but 5 mins later you said it was a great trade by Benning

I don't think so. The Panthers never put him on waivers after they claimed him, which he would have had to do to get onto the taxi squad.

According to this, he was on IR with an undisclosed issue for awhile in March. Then it looks like they took their time bringing him back — till rosters expanded just after the trade deadline on April 12.

Isn’t it a league wide NHL policy, also endorsed by the NHLPA. If you don’t get vaccinated you have to follow these rules, it’s the same for every club.

Not every club is doing business the same way. NJ and Det are allowing unvaccinated players to participate, and they only forego salary for the games they aren’t allowed to attend - international travel. The rules that they make the players abide by are thinks like: from hotel to practice/game facilities and straight back to hotel (no social gathering).

Other teams like CBJ just told their player to go home and are paying him to stay away. Clearly their policy is everyone on board or you can’t come on our boat.

We don’t really know where the Canucks sit on this.

I do remember some of us here wanting to draft him, so there is that. I'm excited that the Joe Levi saga has come to a close and we can move on. Hopefully the 2 players we got can contribute more singly or together for the Canucks, than Joe has to this point. And the drama of a top 5 miss, wanting Sergachev or Tkchuck instead, and the death race bag skate, comes to an end.
