Well law of averages says it will have to change eventually. Keith will calm that defense down just need Smith to stay sharp. They are in 'win now' mode lol

They can shut teams down better too. Without McD, Drai and Nurse they totally shut the Canucks down. I know it's pre season but still. You can see a shift there.

That's not exactly a high bar these days

Edmonton will make the playoffs, I just don't see them going deep with that roster. They're the same build as Toronto (relying on a few players to do the heavy lifting), but not even as good/balanced as Toronto (and Toronto isn't balanced so that's saying something!)

One of the surprises among yesterday’s opening day roster submissions was in New York, where the Rangers decided to send Vitali Kravtsov back to the minor leagues. Today, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports that the team has given Kravtsov’s camp permission to seek a trade.

More to come…

Rags “rebuild” that everyone was raving about looks pretty mediocre so far

multiple GM changes, with the most recent trading skill for grit. I dont blame Kravstov for wanting out, probably doesn't see a future.

Obviously not literally everyone, but I remember reading plenty about how the Rangers were doing such a great job.

Now that GM has been fired and the new guy seems to be building his team based around the fear of Tom Wilson

Seems like a mess

I wouldn't call it a mess.

It was only Feb 2018 when Sather announced the rebuild was on. It's pretty much been only 4 years of sucking.

See if Van's own Russian has an impact in games early on in the season otherwise he could be down in Abbotsford.

Podz was actually a team worst minus 5 in pre season action.

What?
Didn't Eklund just say the Ramgers would win the East?

Now I don’t read Twitter so I’m oblivious on what people are saying on that medium but very little has been written on MSM about the Rags and their rebuild other than local stuff. TBH, rags have become a bit irrelevant. Islanders seem to get much more press these days.

I do remember Lefty commenting on it a few times but we all know Lefty likes to antagonize so I don’t take his perspective too seriously. Last time I checked, Lefty isn’t everyone.

Yeah, I think you’re definitely missing something here. They were getting plenty of love 2-3 years ago.

Stumbled on this:

https://www.dailyfaceoff....ndems-from-best-to-worst/

Not sure how old but the writer has Canucks ranked 5th best goaltending duo. Saying that, he has Habs ranked 2nd and we all know Price will be out for most of the season.

im not going to put any weight into what we saw in preseason. Lines were all over the place, new systems, new line mates, lines mixed mid game. Was a bit of a mess

As I said he's going to have to show if he can make an impact or not. a single drive to the net once a game isn't going to get it done.
