I agree. But without Freddy dragging us down like he did last year I think we have a great year. We’re more than overdue for a playoff run.

How did Freddy drag the Leafs down last year? They won the division in the regular season and he didn’t see a minute of ice in the playoffs. Campbell stepped up and went in a huge rip looking unbeatable for 15-20 games. Freddy didn’t have a good year for sure but I’m not sure how moving him solved any problems?

Was it time to move him - (in my opinion) yep but there were a series of problems that cost the Leafs playoff success that have been discussed all summer here - Freddy wasn’t one of them.

The reasons they lost that I read all summer here were some/ all of these:

Too soft in playoffs, out coached, losing JT less than 10 minutes into game one, Marner and the puck flipping over glass, Holl sucking, Muzzin being hurt at a crucial time in a series (again), Mik never scoring, AM being triple teamed and hitting a gazillion posts, terrible giveaways in OT, soft opening goal against in game 7 just to name some.

Anyhow I’m glad that goalie controversy is over - bring on the season and the pending next goalie debate which will be Mrazek or Campbell and why one sucks and the other walks on water.

GO LEAFS GO!

He's not a great option at 3C and he's not a legit Top 6 forward.

In a pinch, he's capable of playing up in the lineup when injuries occur but I'm thinking 3.5M for what he brings to the table is an overpayment. He was decent in the postseason but half of his points came in Game 4 and the rest of the series he wasn't much of a factor.

Unless there's serious injuries preventing the move, I'm thinking he's gone at the TDL.
