It’s 13 forwards or 7 defensemen and I think Liljegren will be sent down t get true I’ve time. Coupled with the fact that with Mikheyev hurt and Kase having a injury history they’ll go with a 13th forward. Hence why I believe that Amadio will be landing that job.

He hustled and stood out every game he played. Wasn't always effective but I liked his jam.

Is there a NMC attached? CapFriendly hasn't listed it. Very interesting if there isn't... not saying it'll be a factor in an Eichel trade, but gives the Rags a lot of flexibility down the road when Zibby declines.

Man. Nothing but respect for Leafs fans. I see my dad and brother and how passionate they are as well year after year. Truly the most passionate fans in hockey for sure. As critical and angry you fans get - that’s what sports is all about! Love/hate all in the same conversation.

When the Wings aren’t in the playoffs (pretty frequent recently) I always hope for a good result for the Leafs. I am from Toronto and it would be crazy to see the explosion of sheer joy that a Leafs Cup would bring to the City and frankly for most of Canada…I’m guessing the military would be necessary.

And the closer they are to max cap when/if Mickey goes on LTIR the better.
So keeping a salary like Liljegren is better than a league min. But he could be sent down before game 2.

My understanding is you don’t have to use it but what is available is based on how close you are to the cap when the guy is on LTIR. Hence why the roster could change for game 2.
So be as close as you can to the cap Wednesday by keeping both an extra forward and D. Maybe even squeezing a hundred grand more in case you do need an $850,00 player called up like Semyonov or Liljegren instead of a Brooks or Amadio.

Then Thursday can send a player down or bring up a league minimum guy for an $850,000 guy

Plenty of Leaf fans down in this east corner of the Country too. Still fondly recall the
pre satellite days of catching the Leaf games on the old AM dial. Not until 9:00 clockish though, when the reception was stronger.

I consider it barely noteworthy.

He was waived in favour of a player the same age, who probably has less skill but more grit (and was also a soo greyhound ). When it comes to Brooks, I don't think he was going to put up 20 on the 4th line anyways.

I would say that Dubas is doing a bad job if the stanley cup was won by having adam brooks on your roster when he turns into the next verhaege, but if sacrificing the next verhaege (because he doesn't fit on your 23 man roster) for the best possible roster this year needs to happen then so be it

I'm thinking the only reason Amadio makes it on this roster is that he's a right-handed draw on the face-off.

I don't think he brings noticeably more grit or skill than Brooks.

Brooks simply holds some interest among fans because he's a Maple Leafs draft choice who has a nice story. He has persevered through each level of hockey from junior to the AHL, albeit, slower than most. He's got a lot of heart and it'd be fun if he became a regular.

Not holding my breath but I, perhaps irrationally, have more of an attachment to this guy than Amadio because of the history.

Who plays 4C likely doesn't have much an impact on a Cup run, but it's somewhat worthy of discussion as he's a Leafs prospect who may not be soon enough.
