Oh man I 100% forgot about him. Not being a smart butt at all - I honestly just figured he’d be hurt.
You are completely right.!

Kase plays 3rd line wing where Kerfoot is and Kerfoot Centre between Spezza/Engvall

- Big23Questions

Spezza and Engvall work together at C actually, Spezza, the long time C generally takes the face offs and then Engvall jumps into the role while Spezza flips to wing.

Leaves a fourth line that’s Engvall Spezza Simmonds and tbh I like it

Simmonds, I hope he plays better than how he did after his injury.

Too bad for Engvall and Spezza, they’ll get a shift and then Simmonds will go off side and then they all go feel shame on the bench for about 10 minutes before they see the ice again. 🤣

Move Spezza and Engvall to line 3 with Kase.

Spezza needs more ice time IMO

3rd in points/60 over the last 2 reg seasons right behind Matthews and Marner.

Kerf-Kampf-Kase looks like a pretty good bet for a 3rd line.

I doubt Liljegren because they want him to have playing time, same with Semyonov, Amadio is a former King who plays C, slightly older, a perfect little fit for the leafs as 13 because they’ll have Engvall in the roster who can play wing as well as C if Amadio needs to enter it due to another injury

Also easy to flip a guy like that around if the injury occurs to a d man and they need to drop him to get Liljegren who is waiver free

- Dozzer

I don't think Liljegren needs any more seasoning on the Marlies. He gets a shot to show his quality this season and I think he and Dermott (and maybe Sandin, if he poops the bed) rotate in and out of the lineup to see who sticks.

The Leafs could also run a 7 d-man roster as an experiment.

Holl got tuned
Simmonds got revenge

- mr.sir

Why was Sabourin tuning Holl and trying to crack his head when he's down?

Love Wayne Train for stepping up!

Stop whining about Simmonds lol

He’s gonna get some whistles but most of them will be worth it

It’s 13 forwards or 7 defensemen and I think Liljegren will be sent down t get true I’ve time. Coupled with the fact that with Mikheyev hurt and Kase having a injury history they’ll go with a 13th forward. Hence why I believe that Amadio will be landing that job.

For the first game anyway they will want to be as close to the cap as possible to maximize the use of moving Mickey to the LITR. Also with 1.6 on LITR they can afford to keep 13 f and 7 D. I think they will do it.

Yep.

Ritchie, Matthews, Marner
Bunting, Tavares, Nylander
Kerf, Kampf, Kase
Engvall, Spezza, Simmonds

Reilly, Brodie
Muzz, Holl
Sandin, Dermott

Campbell
Mrazek

Except for Sandin's partner, I'm actually pretty okay with that line up...and I thought Dermott would be a player, really did.

Ritchie and Bunting looked great in the preseason.
Simmonds looks fast and healthy.
Spezza gonna spezza.
Engvall has been a surprise, finally figured out he had to do stuff on the ice...Garnsie!
And I like our goalie tandem so far.

Team looks way more balanced from talent to toughness....I think Dubas finally figured it out. Excited to get going....thought I would be meh about the season after last year's playoffs.

As long as we keep the minutes down for our bottom pair we should be ok. They’re both pretty decent players on offense.

They’re not having him truly looked at til tomorrow which means he’ll still be a cap hit for the first game no?… be interesting to see how they handle this as soon as they can

And the closer they are to max cap when/if Mickey goes on LTIR the better.
So keeping a salary like Liljegren is better than a league min. But he could be sent down before game 2.
