I agree. But without Freddy dragging us down like he did last year I think we have a great year. We’re more than overdue for a playoff run.
- shack67

Freddie is totally going to have a bounce back year, amirite/amirov?

At the very least, he shuts out the Leafs in one of their games. The Leafy script writes itself.

Engvall was good

Mikheyev died😔

Dermott had some nice breakout passes

- mr.sir

Saw the GMin6.

Micheyev injured makes a few decisions easier I guess. Bad injury? (they didn't show it)

'Nucks really hoping someone bites on Hamonic.

Kyle Turris's play has fallen off a cliff.

Haven't watched Nucks enough to say if he's worth 2 years @3M per or not...?

There's just way too many questions marks on this team to confidently predict that kind of regular season success, I think. Just a few:

- Do Ritchie and Bunting live up to their promise on LW or are they miscast as Top 6 guys?
- Will Campbell be able to continue from last year or will he fade?
- Can Mrazek challenge for 1a or will he wilt under pressure in TO?
- How is AM34's wrist?
- Is JT fully recovered?
- How many games can Kase play without getting injured?
- Can Holl be consistent this year as Muzzin's partner or will he wilt 20 or so games in like he did last year?

The Leafs are pretty much a lock to make the playoffs I think but are they better than TBL and FLA? I dunno. If Ullmark is for real and Hall returns to form, the Bruins could also be tough.

At the end of the day, I think the Leafs proved last year they were a powerhouse until one of their Core 4 was removed from the equation. They also continued to have trouble transferring their game from the loose regular season play to the much tighter, more truculent "bearded manly man" post-season hockey.

All I care about is a legit, deep run this year in the playoffs. Don't care what happens in the regular season as long as they make it to the post-season healthy.

I think the “reality checks” of games against TB, Boston, Colorado, etc will help. It’s one thing for Keefe to keep yelling about playoffs when they’re just playing garbage teams all year. Playing good teams should remind them what’s needed.

Yeah, good question! If he clears waivers I think we have our answer.

D-men they could have drafted:

Sergachev
McAvoy
Chychrun

Unfair to judge a draft on hindsight, but that's gotta burn.

Adam Brooks was just waived.

Really hope that he clears.

- mjones242

Gets claimed, I"ll bet. But he is 25 and has not moved the needle of late.

So, it seems that we are adding somebody new to the lineup. With Miky out for a bit.

Amadio and/or Semyonov probably aren't far off from Brooks from a value perspective. I just have an irrational like for Brooks because he was drafted by this team and he's always been an exceptionally hardworking kid who has always defied the naysayers.

Oh well.

Same here. He racked up points easily in junior. Just went flat when he made the grade to the big league.

Been impressed with Semyonov from what I've seen. Let's give him a shot.

My guess is Amadio has won a spot due to Mikheyev’s injury. He’ll be the 13th guy to start the season. However if Mikheyev isn’t getting looked at by a doctor til tomorrow will they still have to claim his salary since he hasn’t been put on the LTIR yet?

Tomorrow Semyonov and Liljegren will get dropped for sure though.

I don’t think the leafs will want him as a 13th forward… my guess is they’ll drop him and hope he goes through so he gets playing time

If Soup is put on LTIR then Lilybust likely stays on the roster.

At the end of the day, Amadio and Semyonov are both waiver exempt so the Leafs can do whatever with either and not have to worry.

Edit: I think I'm wrong about Amadio but Semyonov is definitely exempt.

I doubt Liljegren because they want him to have playing time, same with Semyonov, Amadio is a former King who plays C, slightly older, a perfect little fit for the leafs as 13 because they’ll have Engvall in the roster who can play wing as well as C if Amadio needs to enter it due to another injury

Also easy to flip a guy like that around if the injury occurs to a d man and they need to drop him to get Liljegren who is waiver free

My day so far:

Wake up, take dog to Cherry Beach for swim.

Come home, run around like chicken with head cut off, getting backyard ready to host extended family Thanksgiving.

Run errands: grocery store, beer store, back to grocery store because I forgot cranberry sauce and whipped cream.

4 pm - everything set. Sit down and have a beer.

Realize I haven’t had a single thing to eat all franking day. I am going to be poopy by 5 pm.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Isn’t Semyonov waiver exempt? I think Liljegren stays up until at least Marlies season gets a bit closer to beginning.

I am pretty sure there is another forward who can make an excellent Kase for being on 3rd line

Oh man I 100% forgot about him. Not being a smart butt at all - I honestly just figured he’d be hurt.
You are completely right.!

Kase plays 3rd line wing where Kerfoot is and Kerfoot Centre between Spezza/Engvall
