3 apples for Seth? Not bad for an old focker. |

I’m hoping he can play like this consistently. He’s got some talent and he’s pretty creative but I hope he knows there’s someone wanting his spot should he decide it’s easier to play that dainty game he can be guilty of. - paulr
Agreed. |

I was glad to hear that & hope he proves me wrong. I don't like being wrong, but if it benefits the hawks, I'll accept it. |

He had a weird game to me, at times he looked really really good and then at times he struggled all in one game |

Me too. I was critical of the trade and the contract, hope he proves me wrong on both counts. |

It was nice to see 3 guys many times protecting the house, didn't see it all preseason, don't understand why |

I didn’t hear it but I’m guessing he said how you play in the preseason is directly proportional to the success of the season? |

Nice for the blood pressure huh? |

It'll be great to hear all the trade Strome posts or waive him talk |

I would rather see Galvas than Mitchell. Anyone feel differently. |

Some pre-season-games positives (all games, not just tonite):
I’m seeing much better zone clearing passes and transitioning. They are passing and moving the puck with a purpose. Much fewer stretch passes just to relieve pressure. Players are in position to receive a pass and make a play.
3-1-2 record. Only pre-season, but still….
They only allowed 2 goals 5x5 in the last three games (of course, the PK needs improvement).
Now let’s see how these things are starting next Wednesday…. |

The most crucial thing. Forwards supporting the defensemen when the opposition has the puck then providing options when the defensemen have possession makes the defensemen look better. But this gets tougher in the regular season when the game gets quicker, the opponents forecheck harder and the Hawk forwards want to do too much. Hopefully the forwards can continue to support their defensemen. |

I think you will, one of the things i see in Galvas is he seems to know who and where he's going to pass the puck before he even has it. Most times he's right |

Sorry, Sizzle Chest, JC refuses to let his forwards do that old school crap. |

A big step up in class, on the road, at high altitude on Wednesday. Roster moves and lineup should be interesting.
I think Mitchell starts at Rockford.
Galvas starts in 3rd pairing.
Strome makes the team.
Nylander….see ya.
Hawks do not play on day 1. So they could go with 20 players, then throw Shaw on in season LTIR and move other players back on the roster for day 2. I think they go with 6 dmen to start. |

It’s going to be a big test, add in Colorado will come out with guns blazing after getting bounced so unceremoniously last season. The Hawks have to pattern their play after tonight’s game minus the slow start. I’m looking forward to see how they play. |

It would be great to see a competitive game. A win would be a bonus. |
