lol wow. I've been in Greens corner but this year is the kicker. He needs to diversify as a coach or git gone.

Growth & results there is nothing else. đź‘Ť

No one's going to mention that the addition of regular season overtime, the loser point and the shootout have all tended to skew win/loss stats?

Yup. Expecting Pearson Bo Hog.
- Nighthawk

If Green pulls Miller off the Lotto line and into the bottom 6, it will mean the top 6 will be watered down from last season.

Going to have a pretty good two PP units though.

Irrelevant seeing as Lefty's argument is Benning is last in wins and those stats still don't achieve that.

That also applies to Nonis' lower 130 win record as well by the way... so...

Idk about watered down with adding Garland & Pod. I do think more scoring depth & 2 solid PP’s. 4th line less minutes but on PK. There is always double shifting & shortening the bench.

I disagree. Context is always relevant.

Wrong what? You gave me grief about some bust narrative. Meanwhile what I actually said he would be the 3rd liner we desperately needed throughout previous years. Season hasn't even started and you are saying Ive been consistently wrong on this?

Meanwhile, he was on what is projected to be a 3rd line with Miller last game... and looked great.

- boonerbuck

Yup he flips and flops constantly. At least he figured out how to spell crow correctly. So there's that.

Relevant to what though? It doesn't change the outcome of the argument.

Podz not likely to be in the top 6 and I doubt Garland is going to be better/more effective on the former Lotto line than Miller, but it shall remain to be seen.

I thought the argument was ranking Canuck GMs. You're obsessing on this one point when it's tangential to the real argument... but carry on.

Whut?

The real argument is with Lefty's claim that JB is last in wins. You must of stepped into it late and missed that...

See my edit about the same thing applying to Nonis' smaller numbers of wins.

- boonerbuck

Don’t have Pod in the top 6.
Something like this if JT is 3C.

Garland EP BB
Pearson Bo Hog
Petan JTM Pod

Here's Lefty's opening comments that were debated by me.

If only ranked for winning Benning would be at the bottom
- LeftCoaster

Nice twist, I said wins, not winning percentage
- LeftCoaster

He was wrong on both accounts regardless of the stats you mentioned.

I didn't mention any stats and feel that context always matters. You responded to my post.

I’ve never thought Gillis was wrong on cup pushes at all but he did it by mortgaging the future for many years is all I meant.
- Nighthawk

Kinda like what Benning is doing now.

These are all stats categories being used by you as "context" in an argument you've misunderstood.

You said winning so I looked at the %...

So lets look at wins... only 3 GM's have more wins than Benning. Here's the ones that have less than Benning's 211 as of last season....

Hal Laycoe 24
Jack Gordon 52
Norman Polie 66
Phil Malonie 71
Harry Neale 87
Dave Nonis 130
Jake Milford 155

So who's twisting here? You are wrong on both wins and win% and before you go off about playoffs, he's in the top half there as well.

edit: I see you edited in a playoff comment. I got you there too.

- boonerbuck

sorry I got busy! I’m on my phone but I’ll do my best to debate with you.

Of the 12 GM’s in Canucks history only six of them have four or more seasons under them. Hal Laycoe was GM for four months, of course he doesn’t have many wins or loses lol.

Milford
Quinn
Nonis
Burke
Gillis
Benning

Too many green candies in my bag of Jolly Ranchers. The ratio is half bag of apple flavor with the other 5 flavors only taking up the other half. Life's a b!tch...

Nonis still has less wins than Benning no matter how you spin it.

It is the time of year for apple, be happy you didn't get half a bag of pumpkin.
