His camp opening performance was pretty sad but he wasnt atrocious in the preseason. He proved once again to be a quality PKer which is a big deal right now with the players who are gone or out for the time being. He was looking better than Rathbone for a while there.

...and even AV was getting all the credit for delivering Burrows to Nonis who didn't have him on his radar at all.

Nonis sucked but he drafted better than Gillis.

DiG & Dowling getting late looks. Figure Dowling will see the press box for Dlcky with Petan 4C & DiG maybe starts. Both demoted once Sutter & Motte return. OJ the 7th D unless PK duty.

Also, so much of Gillis' success was on the back of previous Gm's. I know people will say it's the same down the line but come on, Danny Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Luongo, Kesler, Burrows, Edler, Bieksa... it's not the same down the line. Gillis' success is based on adding to a core that was unparalleled in Canuck history.

Out of the 11 GM's listed, only 4 GM's have a higher win % than JB.... and only 4 GM's have more playoff appearances than Benning.
