To some extent yes. They absolutely should be though . They have no star player to build around or make the fans want to come see. The franchise is dying a slow death.

i have no problem with that offer...joel fabree would be no. 1 on my list in a trade, but now way the flyboys give him up...

i think the aforementioned trade is about all that the two teams could come together on...

and, yes, risto was a joke...but it wasn't directed at you or fly-boy fans it was more towards those in this thread, as another sabres poster used him as well...

Just looking at contracts with no clauses attached to make a deal easier. JVR doesn't do anything for the Sabres at this point but the money works better.

I think JVR is what Rhino is going to be in his early 30's: an excellent second line winger who will score you 25 goals consistently.

I'd assume the best players would be announced on a preliminary list soon? 🤔

I'll reiterate my post from a blog or 2 ago...

Give a Mulligan to Adams' 1st year since the Pegula's virtually cut his nuts off the day they hired him by having him fire his support staff and take direction from the snake oil salesman called Ralph...who really was Freddie.

Starting with this offseason I'd give him a solid "Incomplete" given the Eichel trade mess. He can score an A collectively if he aces the trade, or conversely an F if he bungles it...it IS THAT big of a deal. To date, he has earned points by remaining steadfast in staring-down numerous GM's, yet at the same time he has participated in devaluing Eichel's trade value a bit with his comments since May. His '21 Draft looks pretty good, but is too early to tell. His FA acquisitions are generally lacking in skill, but maybe make up for it in spirit and compete...could be exactly the right plan given Tank 4 direction.

Yet, it all balances of the outcome of the Eichel trade.
