(frank) no they're not.
They're the guys that are gonna get slotted in because their contracts are small and the team is up to the CAP.
Would be really dumb to trade them. That would be an actual mismanagement of assets. - GreatGigInTheSky

I see it as Keefe first, then Dubas a year afterwards by bringing in a coach who’s completely different and it still not working. Then the new GM comes in and decides who to trade before the NTCs start that July.
Who cares about the 2 years as well btw, MLSE certainly doesn’t (ie: Babcock) - Dozzer
When you bring in a new GM they usually get put into a situation where they have a coach they can fire as a card to be played. Keefe will be that guy for the next GM if Dubas gets the axe.
And no, I don't think the Leafs would piss away a brand new contract because Keefe failed to get past the first round again. They have money but surely they would recognize this isn't a coaching problem -- this is a team build problem.
Keefe gets more of a life line than Dubas at this point. |

I didn't like what I saw in 'All or Nothing'. Keefe, like 8 or 9 games into the season, had to get Spezza to deliver his message to the team because he was being "too hard" on the younger guys in the room. When they fired Babcock, they gave the keys to the kingdom to the kids. What they say, goes. Keefe talked about "playoff habits" all season - scoring dirty area goals, and and avoiding turnovers - and both of those things killed the Leafs v. Montreal. The kids didn't listen to Babcock, and they didn't listen to Keefe, either. - fifty__missions
They were also missing John (frank)ing Tavares. An elite C, their captain, and an integral piece to the puzzle.
The kids running the show narrative is reductive nonsense. |

I watched 'All or Nothing'. Shanny is a non-entity floating around in nice Leafs swag. Happy to let Dubas take all the heat. - fifty__missions
You think what they showed of Shanahan on All or Nothing defines what he does in the organization? |

Yes, trade 1 of our 7 D that can play in the NHL.
Solid plan.

I would also
last season he projected 73..which they had 77
the biggest diff this time looks to be Goalies, Campbell was good last season, the rest were not... but if they get both goalies doing decent'ish, its a decent bump
