He's an "enforcer" for the remaining exhibition games. - rpeters01
Isn't that why they signed Khaira? Tho, anyone who has seen him fight would use the word enforcer very lightly. |

Take the seven away and I’d expect about there give or take five. |

Why would he not go through wavers?
He was relegated to the AHL by the team that drafted him and hasn't shown anything while in Chicago to show that he was above the criticism regarding his work ethic, play away from the puck, play in the defensive zone or play under pressure.
Sure there's some individual skill but not a whole lot to show that is manifesting into anything outside of potential.

He will get plucked because he’s young, a previous top ten pick, and he has skills, he’s basically a lottery pick. Some here don’t care if he gets claimed, I really don’t care either way, but I believe that they can get something for him, we’ll see. - Angotti
Players very rarely get claimed at the end of camp. Simply because the claiming team pretty much have to put them on the NHL roster. They are also putting their players on waivers at the same time. |

There is no way he is a top 100 prospect for the whole league, paul. Been stunned if he is in the top 200. |

We’ll see, but he looked really good in the U18 tournament. I have the Sports package showing all WHL, OHL and QMJHL games so I’ll have to see as many games he and Dach play in as I can. |

He has all the attributes that will allow him to become a solid NHL player, above average skating ability, strong hockey aptitude, competitive and he’s big and physical. Hopefully he can work on an offensive game while in junior but if not a strong skating defensive defenseman is something every team needs. |

They left better players with higher upside on the board. He would have been a reach as a 2nd rounder. |

Let’s see how it plays out in five years. History has shown the draft is seldom accurate. |

Apparently, not a prerequisite for making the team. |

Maybe #77 shouldn’t kill penalties since he didn’t move his feet. Guess he didn’t finish his pre game popcorn

You can beat Lankinen upstairs all day. He sure makes himself look small in the net. |

It doesn't seem to matter who's in there
Last play 5 and 6 behind the net Khaira goes to help wide open shot in front of the net
I'll be shocked if we dont give up over 3 goals per game again this year. |

Why do we give up so many shots on goal? Because we don't protect the most important part of the ice in our own zone. |

The line up tonight features as much toughness, grit and checking as you would recall any line up in quite a long period - of - time. Practicly everyone is willing to check or hit. Many agitators. Even a generally non combative Strome may perhaps turn the other check given his need to be more assertive and impress the coach..Strome must be wondering, how much job security does he have. Will he dress each game and play with top offensive players. Strome's replacement in my eyes has always been about how I wanted Barrett to take his job. Well they are both playing tonight. |

Hope the Hawks get there act together, look like a minor league team through the pre season. That includes Mr.Rogers coaching. |

Letting opponents enter the zone without pressure leads to a lot of SOG - opponents come it with time to set up and put puck control pressure on, more than one-and-done. |
