I get it. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
While you don’t think so, many in the league including Burke have assessed that hextall has done a solid job drafting and is respect for his work in LA and here. THAT is why he was hired in pitt. To oversee a last run in pitt and then likely a rebuild. Not to be a puppet for Burke and I expect he does have as much power as all of the other gm s in the league. Again, if he was so bad why is he still a gm in the league overseeing drafting? - Hextall271
If I only I was as wise as you when it comes to hockey knowledge.
Again who said he was so bad? Do you have comprehension issues?
bad coaches or GM's get hired frequently after getting fired. This isnt a new phenomenon. Though maybe to you it is apparently.

So right there you’re stating that bad gms get hired all the time. The implication is that you’re referring to hextall as that’s who we’re talking about. It seems you have the comprehension issues. |

The only one he "missed" on was Patrick. He was drafted to heir the #2-1 center. NP not developing into that for the Flyers is extremely detrimental. Now, ive said before about German, there isnt one player selected 8 players before or 20 players later tracking to develop into anything. I cant hold that pick against him but NP hurts - THE BLACK HAND
right as it fits the narrative you try to spin. It was a bad pick. Doesn't matter what happened after or before. Maybe he should have traded it then? My bad how do I know he didnt try right?

Frost could play 5 games in the AHL before the Flyers play #2. Hope Frost can play lights out... |

.. and here we got with the personal attacks. I’m done with you you pos. You have zero knowledge of the game and I’m pretty sure you’re not even a fan of this team. |

Tickets are still available for opening night, no surprise there, if you are interested. Make sure you wash that Saint Ronnie jersey.

Looks like this is properly preparing a player fo the season, let him go get his games in . Like you said , he could be back very soon. |

I think this was always the plan anyway. Start in the AHL unless he just absolutely killed it. After seeing how bad Patrick was it is the smart plan.

This team badly needs a center to be the 1B guy behind Couts, who fills the 1A role. Even Hayes, probably isn’t quite the guy you want in that role, but he’s by far the best they have right now. With him on the shelf, trying to roll 4 lines with Brassard/Laughton/Thompson taking 70% or so of ES shifts is not a recipe for success. I’m also worried that AV will overuse Couturier which is also not wise as there are a lot of back to backs on the schedule. |

Frost didn't make the team because he is not ready to make the team, plain and simple. It had nothing to do with signing Brassard and Thompson as depth players, in fact, it should be clear to you that the only reason these players were signed was because Fletcher and his coaching staff pretty much knew Frost would not be ready. I am willing to give Frost more time to develop given his injury, but I have concerns that a 22 your old center and former 1st round pick is still not ready, and looked to me like he didn't want to earn the spot on the big club! - jd250
It should be clear to you that I stated many, many times that the Flyers made a pre determined decision that Frost would not be ready. I posted numerous times that I thought before the Hayes injury that Frost would not be given a legitimate chance to make the team. So what are you talking about?
I'm 100% fine with letting the merits of Frost's play determine what happens. As it should. Are you on the fence with Frost? I think your concerns will be shown to be not necessary. The idea that he looked like he didn't want to earn the spot is not worthy of an amateur analysis of a player let alone from someone like you who claims to have NHL GM ability to assess a player. |

Spot on, the evidence is clear, Hextall missed on too many top picks and this has set this franchise back considerably! - jd250
LOL
Hextall was the GM for 4 drafts. From those drafts, the Flyers have added Sanheim, Aube-Kubel, Lindblom, Provorov, Konecny, Hart and Farabee. With the potential for Allison, Frost and O'Brien to also become regular NHL players. That's 7 NHL players with the possibility of 3 more from 4 drafts. Pretty good.
The major core of this team was built by Hextall. |

Hmmm .. didn't I suggest this last week and you told me it would better to move Laughts back to center instead? I think G has to be the 2nd line center now, with Brassard at 3C and Thompson at 4C. This might be a good thing because I would then put Farabee and TK on the top line with Couts, I think that would be a very interesting top line. - jd250
In that comment that you quoted, I'm not talking about what I think they should do but about the options the Flyers have. Hmmmmm, what don't you get?

Are they serious? I hope they never score a goal at this rate.
This may be the only time in NHL history the goal song gets booed when we DO score. - MBFlyerfan

It was 5 dafts actually, and I wouldn't consider NAK as a core player, or we are really in trouble! |
