None of those players were promoted to the NHL before they were ready. In the case of Myers last year, he was elevated up the lineup before he was ready for it but not for the NHL. You could argue that Hart should've been in a 1A/1B situation but he was ready for the NHL. Sanheim was worked in gradually and was a part time player. Patrick had a decent rookie season and was an NHL player out of the draft. - MJL
In my opinion the 3rd year a player is in the league should be the start of his productive years.
Again I still like the players but Sanheim fair offensively but too weak physically, Hart had to handle his first adversity last year and didn’t handle it well. Both could have been better prepared with more development time.
I’m of the belief young players need development time before they get into survival mode and become 4 line, 3rd pairing players because they didn’t develop and build their confidence.
Again it’s my opinion and time will tell if these players reach their potential! |

The kid was given the opportunity and did nothing with it - ClaudeFather
The kid played two regular season games and what 3 pre season games this calendar year. With the last regular season action coming on 1/19 with 8 months between the pre season games. |

Whether I agree or disagree with any of this, you're now making a different argument.

They way I read your comment is that he failed rather than just being a case of being rusty as a player and needing more time.

Development time for a player and how fast they rise to a level is different for every player.

Yea he’s just not ready right now, it’s unfortunate that this injury cost him a season and now has him down to start the next but let’s hope he can hit his stride quickly. The player that I saw in those pre season games was not the guy who got called up a couple years back and made an immediate impact. |

Here come the Jakey lovers! He had a three point night tonight in another meaningless exhibition game!! Big whoop! Oh, and Brassard earned the spot over Frost. It's really that simple. Ya wanna see the young guys take the ball and run when given the chance, and Frost dropped the ball and tripped over the blue line! He's 22 now....no more babying. |

I made it known before and I’ll say it again, wish we didn’t move Jake. His production will be missed, but I understand why he was moved. Really hoping Atkinson proves me wrong though, cheering for him. |

It’s good to know you can walk away for a year or two and nothing ever changes. |

If Hart was ready then it was a failure on Ronnie for not bringing him up. One of the first things Chuck did was bring up Hart because the team was struggling with poor goalie play.

His blind passes and turnovers will not be missed by me at all. i wouldve traded him for next to no return, and just to unload that contract

I like Jake but I always saw him as a player we could move to change up the chemistry. The idea is that we had too many pass first players and we needed a balance with some shooters. Aspects of his game will be missed but he was a core player that we could swap to mix it up. I guess the flyers were in agreement with you as they left him exposed in the ed. To get a good player in return along with some more cap space was a win. |

We all had and have our opinions about Jake. Jake does better when he workouts and has time to workout. They he plays better when he has a chip on his shoulder. Why I said at the end of last season jake would have a really good bounce back year this year and he still was a top point getter for a bad Flyers team last year.
No cap I would have kept him but I see why the deal was done, cap space was needed and Cam was a good piece coming back. To me Cam has always been a Flyer killer, he needs to be good for the Flyers now

It is possible it is a combination of the two. I definitely can buy the rust factor but I also can't get over how ineffective he was on offense given most times it was against lesser competition. I give him a pass the first Boston game. Heck, most vets struggle with Bergeron. |

If it works out, the mix will be better with a speedy shoot first guy who is also solid on the pk where we really needed help. The pk has been way too passive and perhaps this will help. I’m excited to see if with the new players we will start games better than previously. That would be a big change. It would have been nice to have Hayes and Allison in the mix to see what we really have but the team needs to get over it and have a strong start. No excuses. You see a lot of teams successfully play though big injuries and still get it done. That has to be us.

JVR- Couturier - TK
clode - brassard - Atkinson
Lindblom - Death Stare - Farabee
Cates - Thompson - NAK
Provorov - Ellis
Sanheim - Fisto
Yandle - Braun
Hart
Jones
Your opening night lineup. Clearly lines subject to change. Is that a playoff roster? Even with Hayes? No cap space. Just 2 years away. |

I wouldn't be surprised to see Frost back with the team by opening night or even more likely game 2.
The Phantoms have 2 preseason games and 3 regular season games before the Flyers play their 2nd game. There could be a method to the Flyers madness here trying to get Frost as many live games as possible in as short a time as possible. Its the only true way for him to get his game back. It just cant really be done at practice.

It’s very Possible that’s the plan and they flyers don’t actually view him as a absolute bust they intend to release or trade for a 7th rounder. |

I wanted him outta here because I thought he made too much against the cap and I didn't like certain aspects of his game. I always looked at him as having a low hockey IQ and a questionable work ethic. There are aspects of his game they will miss, but they made a hockey trade and I hope it works out.
