Bill just tweeted that it looks like Jackson Cates beat out Frost.

Cates has barely played in preseason. Not sure how he beat out even Bunnaman.

Wilson and Cates are the forwards not cut.

York and Seeler still on defense.

Sandstrom, 3rd goalie.

Only a couple cuts left.

Bunnaman placed on waivers for the purpose of assigning to the Phantoms, I think there is a chance that he is claimed. And who and what is a Garret Wilson?

Frost has shown absolutely nothing. More concerning is he was rarely even involved in play. Foerester at least showed effort. Not saying either player is bet
ter then the other or even NHL ready but think Frost has to learn he has to earn a spot not just be given one.

I'm willing to cut Frost slack because of the little hockey he played recently, but let's face it, he showed inconsistent energy and very little offense. At times I wondered if he wanted to win the job for the Flyers. This will be a make or break year for him in LHV.

My guess is this decision is based on what the best usage if for Frost right now. THey probably feel that getting top line minutes on a regular basis for the Phantoms is better for his development than bouncing around the Flyers lineup and seeing a sheltered deployment.

they have been developing players. Is playing time earned? or should it be given?

Frost got his spot by default as not many other options and the other options are not good.

This is true, the 2C job was Frost's to lose, and by golly, he lost it!

Hope not. Here is Wilson’s stats.

Might be the 13th forward.

Just saw this tweet…hmmm

I read on twitter both Bunnaman and Rubstov have to clear waivers.
Same tweet mentioned if Bunnaman clears its assumed he'll rejoin the Flyers

Hopefully AV had a chat with Frost similar to Farabee when we sent Fabaree down to the AHL. Farabee played great with the Phantoms and quickly found his spot with the Flyers.
- arichardson22

A bit surprised that he was sent down but I think it’s fine. Let him get his timing back.

I'm not upset but at the same time I think we all wanted him to come into camp and really earn that 2C spot. Not the end of the world though. He looked pretty good in the AHL in 19-20, let's hope he gets back to that form and pushes for a spot sooner than later.

2C or 3C - there are two middle center jobs with similar ice times and usage open with Hayes out. If they think Frost isn't ready for one of them then that's their call, but they better hope Brassard and Laughton can produce in those roles to start the season.

Ok with Frost getting some AHL work, I think they play 3 games between now and Sunday, go get some reps. Would Frost not get more game action going to the A than being with the big club over the next 7-10 days?

I think he will get more games and ice down in the A…..if they don’t think he’s ready…then I guess he’s not. I’m sure they are disappointed as is the player….hopefully just a speed bump.

Based on the moves the GM made and the expectations I cant imagine he waits/hopes frost comes around. Or for Hayes to get back. Can def see a trade happening.

Agree it's not ideal. Maybe AV moves G to center for a little. I really didn't expect much from Brassard, but I have to admit he looked solid in preseason. Perhaps he can fill in very short-term, but in the end it comes down the line match ups.

Good question maybe they send him down to the a until next week so that he can get 3 games in vice 1. Then he comes back before the season?

and the fact is he will get real games before the start of the NHL season, what he needs, who knows, can he blow it out down there in 10 days and still make the NHL team

So the score is now 14-13, thought we were talking about chances. Saying the chances were dead even means nothing, watch the game. He has not done much of anything.

I with others thought he would have fire under his arse. Understand it been a while and he has improved parts of his game. But wanted more I guess.

Cates is a nice underdog. Can’t wai TV for his brother.

Look at those forward ranks. Sometimes I can’t help but to chuckle.

Capped out, and spending first round picks.

For what? Clawing desperately into a playoff spot?

I think Giroux might need to play center for a bit
- ClaudeFather

It'll probably come to that at some point, but I wouldn't to start off the season.
