The ability for Vegas to put Eichel on LTIR until he's fully healthy makes things extremely difficult to figure re: the cap.

I'll give it a shot: For every season of the five remaining on Eichel's contract that Vegas makes the conference finals, they give the Sabres a 3rd round pick. If they make the cup finals, it's a 2nd round pick. If they win the cup, it's a 1st round pick.

The issue here is the compliance. Without throwing in all of those bodies and their salaries, you have to seek help from a third team. Or at the very least, cut out Elvenes. Partially voiding the entire point of trading Jack.

That Florida 1st won't be ready for 2-3 years. If I need to use it to get a guy that is aged with the young NHLers, I don't really have a problem with that.
